I seriously have no idea. I felt really interested in Cardozo initially and fairly confident, because my numbers are above their range, but at this point I'm kind of "meh." The whole thing has been a little odd to me. What do you think? Ding? WL?zla2014 wrote:Do you think we stand a chance or are probably getting dinged? This is exactly how I feel...I wouldn't be surprised by any response at this point.denny.crane wrote:

Re: Cardozo 2011
I've been waitlisted at a few T20s and T30s, so initially I was thinking Dozo would just make another addition to my pile of waitlists from T1 schools. My friend got WLed though 2 weeks ago with a 160/3.9 and excellent softs and she applied 2-3 weeks later than I did. I'm hoping they're seriously deliberating and that's why they've held on to it for so long. I wonder if my diversity statement about being Jewish and my commitment to charity resonated with them? I'm not sure. I can't believe you've been UR since 1/3 though. I will die if I have to wait an entire month longer to hear back!denny.crane wrote:

Your diversity statement sounds like it would be great for Cardozo! Don't lose hope . . . maybe they're just . . . enjoying the spring?zla2014 wrote:I've been waitlisted at a few T20s and T30s, so initially I was thinking Dozo would just make another addition to my pile of waitlists from T1 schools. hah I wrote about being a Russian Jewish immigrant. I'm not sure if things like that work for or against you, though, in Cardozo's case. My statement wasn't hokey though, I had a lot of people read it to make sure it didn't sound like I was pandering.zla2014 wrote:lol. I'm not holding my breath, but maybe! I am a third generation Russian Jew! That's so awesome that you are a Russian Jew too! I'm gonna PM you! lol. I worked for a non-profit firm and both my parents are in civil service so mine was legit too. I worked on it for a few months and it complemented my PS. I feel its pretty strong.abonda01 wrote:hah I wrote about being a Russian Jewish immigrant. I'm not sure if things like that work for or against you, though, in Cardozo's case. I had a bit about being an ashkanazi as well. Just a brief history of my father moving to this country and how it prepped me for law. Hoping it helped also!

I called the admissions office because I wanted to make an appointment to visit on Monday, but it went straight to voicemail. Has anyone else had this experience during regular office hours? Maybe they're all busy reviewing applications...

Summer you won't be able to work. But for fall you might have the option of choosing only morning classes...Lawst wrote:I'm starting to wonder if I made the right choice in asking to stay on the waitlist for fall only. I hate that their May program has classes during the day - it makes it damn near impossible to work, which is the big advantage of going PT for a year. I would love to not be completely living on loans for one of the three years, especially since I'm getting no merit aid. But I really like Cardozo.
Does anyone know what time the classes are for May people, roughly?
I'm glad dozo is back in Tier 1, but it sucks when it's at your expense. I think I would have gotten in a year or two ago, but they have to be strict with the numbers to move up. Ah, what is meant to be will be, I guess.

Re: Cardozo 2011
Just got back from the ASD - it was great! I've been to two so far (Tulane, Brooklyn), and this one was by far the best. I thought they presented the school really well, and I actually got excited about the prospect of going. I also really liked talking to the fellow admitted students, there were a lot of really nice people. One of the best things though was how nice and approachable the faculty was. Dean Diller himself just randomly came up to me and started chatting me up, and another professor gave a bunch of us his card and asked us to e-mail him if we had any questions. I thought I had decided on 100% going to another school, and now I'm not so sure.
Also to the CA people - we didn't officially meet up, but I have a feeling I met you, since I met about 10 other people from CA today.
