Wow, Fordham really doesn't give out much money. If 170+ are getting such scant figures, there's no chance for someone like me. Looks like Fordham is a no go...

Re: Fordham 2011
Perhaps it is my tiredness, as it is 2:30 in the am. Perhaps it is my drunkenness, as there are a great many beers holding a very contentious discussion in my belly. Perhaps it is my arrogance, as I was surprised to be waitlisted at Fordham after being accepted at top 20 and waitlisted at top 10 schools. But if you are a supposedly elite law school and your waitlist is managed by "surveymonkey," you really ought to reexamine not only your standing in the legal community and value as an educational institution, but also the reasons why prospective students should take you seriously.

Re: Fordham 2011
Weird question...I got my acceptance email a week or so ago. Is it appropriate to email back saying, "thank you," or something to that effect? I didn't because my initial thought was that they probably get 20 million of those.
I can't wait to get a financial offer!
Other Question...Can you receive Need Based and Scholarship Aid from Fordham?...For example, if my expected contribution is $20,000 and I only receive a $10,000 scholarship, what are the odds that I'll receive X in grant money?

Has anyone who applied after 11/15 heard yet? I submitted 11/20 and went complete a couple days later - then complete date switched to 12/13.....

^ I applied 11/15 and got a response a couple days after my complete date switched, so you may be hearing from them soon.

I'm generally curious how need based aid at various schools work, as well. I know Georgetown has some. Despite my feeling fairly well off, I believe my current EFC is something like 1k or 0.IsleMet wrote:Weird question...I got my acceptance email a week or so ago. It seems like with a 167 (at 75th) even with a 4.0 it's not high enough for YP. Those seem like great auto admit numbers.Ludacrispat26 wrote:probably YPalmostfunny wrote:Rejected with 167/4.0. Already accepted to T14. WTF, Fordham?

i have to think that theyre taking personal statements and other factors into account more than is generally assumed.

I think so too. I have a 3.43/164 and haven't heard back... my feeling is if I haven't heard anything, but people with higher numbers have been flat out rejected, they are less number-based than they appear to be. Otherwise, why not just cut me since I'm at the 25% for both? I happen to think I have strong softs, and come from a small private liberal arts school (just saying, it's not like 400 kids from my school are applying to these top law schools) so we'll see what happens.

Fordham is a Jesuit institution. Like BC, they're very holistic. Why else would they accept me this year and reject me last year?
Good luck you guys!

I have strong softs, 4-5 years WE, and good LORs and such, but for some reason Fordham is the one school I have just committed myself to being rejected at. Oh and GPA just under median and LSAT>75th. Hopefully they surprise me.BrownBears09 wrote:I'm under this assumption as well.Woods, Elle wrote:Stringer6 wrote:i have to think that theyre taking personal statements and other factors into account more than is generally assumed.
