Also, specify when they were, because I feel like there haven't been any Hold -> JR1s for a long time...

Yes, but unfortunately for invisiblesun, I am way too lazy and don't care nearly enough to go back and find out when they were. I think it's only one or two, though.legalnoeagle wrote:Have any No JR1 holds successfully hit the JR1-->JR2 lotto?

Re: Held By Harvard Club - 2010
No worries. I think the fact that there are only a handful is notable, because JR made it sound like the difference between JR1->hold and hold w/o JR1 was a matter of timing. Therefore, to accept a bunch of JR1->holds but few holds w/o JR1s shows that either JR was being disingenuous, it's just a matter of timing, or we're missing a lot of information due to our limited TLS/LSN lenses.crackberry wrote:Yes, but unfortunately for invisiblesun, I am way too lazy and don't care nearly enough to go back and find out when they were. Just FYI guys, there were only 3 acceptances after the end of March last year. So it looks like we're fucked?

By percentage there are fewer acceptances this cycle than last cycle, and there are a lot of indications that acceptances are pushed back this year- not to mention the "hold" thing wasn't practiced at Harvard last year (or not quite as widely as it is this cycle).Kronk wrote:Just FYI guys, there were only 3 acceptances after the end of March last year. A survey for those of you who wrote LOCI(s): how long?
I'm sitting at 500 words right now.

Mine was a page, single spaced, including room for my address, their address and my signature. I think it was about 350 words of writing.legalnoeagle wrote:A survey for those of you who wrote LOCI(s): how long?

Cool.
This is probably one of the most cathartic writing exercises I've ever engaged in. It has one of those "I got nothing to lose, baby, so here goes!" feels to it.

There were some rejections and adds to the hold list, but I don't think there was a single accept or JR1 was there?of Benito Cereno wrote:another week of nothing

Why only two more weeks? It seemed like, from the email, that they didn't really have any specific timeline for letting us know.

Haha. I take it you guys are putting the probability of any of us getting accepted at, oh, about 0?legalnoeagle wrote:They can still outright reject our sorry asses.of Benito Cereno wrote:only two more weeks until WL [strike]at least[/strike] at most.invisiblesun wrote:Is everyone getting their popcorn ready for an exciting week of....MORE WAITING?!?!?

Did they promise movement in mid-April? My hold email just says if you don't hear anything by then to go ahead and deposit at another school while you ride it out.

Yeah if JR is done with JR2s, it would be nice for him to fire up the WL email machine. No need to be radio silent for two more weeks.invisiblesun wrote: Haha. I take it you guys are putting the probability of any of us getting accepted at, oh, about 0?
Or maybe we'll all be admitted tomorrow. #wishfulthinking
