Based on previous years, are there likely to be other substantial merit aid offers coming after this initial round? I haven't submitted my financial aid info yet, hoping to get it done in the next day or two

25,000 for the first two years, 12,500 for the third unless I do PI or <$15,000-paid job for 2L summer in which case I get $25,000 for 3L as well. WOW...!!!

so how did you guys get these finaid offers, esp those not related to the dean's scholly? email, snail mail, checking the website?

wondering because i submitted all my fafsa + finaid stuff (i think) already and am wondering about my own offer, and the deadline for such... although perhaps its different b/c i'm a finalist for one of the academic schollys? does that mean i don't get an independent finaid offer until AFTER hearing back about the scholly? or do i get one before, just in case I don't actually get it?

i haven't gotten any ultimatums yet so i hope it isn't so

i visited the school on march 4-5, met with the director of the academic program i applied for, and received an email from finaid today telling me to check the FAAPS website. the email sounded like i would just receive a regular financial aid package...

We have completed our review of your financial aid application. Our determination of your financial aid may now be viewed by logging in to the Financial Aid Application Processing website located at the following link: https://faaps.law.nyu.edu/studentmain.html To view your financial aid determination, please click on "My Award" in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

but my award = .pdf notification of academic scholarship and details! they said that they would send out offers in mid-march to mid-april so... it's purely speculation on my part but my visit might have had a role in the quick response? maybe it depends on the particular scholarship/program? wish i could help you out more! give it some time!

thanks for the information! that's interesting...i wonder if you'd have gotten an offer today if you'd planned on meeting with the director of the academic program in april - which i'm doing. as such i don't expect anything back from them until then, as i guess i'm assuming that the visit is part of the selection process. did you get the impression that the meeting was like an interview for the program? and do you think that it had a significant impact on getting it, or was it just chill?

turns out i forgot to submit the nyu-specific finaid form, so it makes sense that i don't have my finaid offer yet. so worrying averted. i guess this means i don't have to face any unreasonable ultimatums though!

I got an email telling me to check the website to see my scholarship award, which also will be sent in a snail mail letter. The deadline for accepting my (merit) award is April 2.

just got my big fat offer of $0. the assumed annual student contribution they have listed for me is $693,439. how can that be possible.....i make $10 an hour.

at the beginning of this process i didn't know how much of a joke need-based aid is in law school school, very depressing.
