Re: Reverse-Splitters Unite! - The 2010 Reverse-Splitter Thread
Yeah 3 weeks is nothing and I really need to get a 17 MINIMALLY for schools to take me seriously since I have a 163/164 already. It'll look like luck or something if I get a 166 or 167 and they'll like average the scores. I don't think 3 weeks is enough time for me to practice and get a 170 or even a 169, so I decided not to retake. Thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate it. I guess all I can hope to do is get off penn's WL or that a school I really want accepts me

Your apps won't be held that long but if you do better, the score can leverage you more money at the school you end up attending.Gotti wrote:Today's the last day to register for the Feb LSAT...haven't done any LSAT prep since I took the October test. It's like 3 weeks away and I hardly have any material to study with since I've taken all the PTs (i've taken the LSAT twice).
Should I take it again?
Also, will it push my apps all the way to the back again??
Gotti and Gemini, I am in the same boat in regards to thought. I am considering that as a reverse splitter with good softs, I might get into a decent school but I doubt I'll receive any money.
Gemini, can you elaborate as to how I would use my June score, that I receive in July, to leverage more money? Wouldn't merit scholarships be pretty much exhausted by then?

modmx, im actually considering retaking in June also, and i have been told that while it would hold no bearing for this cycle, if you do really well you can withdraw and reapply while taking a year off, and if u do the same there is no harm no foul

Yeah your June score would be for the 2011-2012 cycle, not this one. You pretty much gotta get a really good score in February (latest) to leverage scholly money and get off WLs.modmx wrote: Gotti and Gemini, I am in the same boat in regards to thought. Really? I kinda assumed you can take the June exam too. Not for a decision but to perhaps help with money.
Mod, I would recommend you to call the schools you've been accepted to and ask them this. They would know this more than me.

Add two more schools to the list of schools that like me, but can't quite offer me admission. UVA and GW both put me on their waitlists today.

The news from my end is sad. WL at Minn and ding at Cornell. My streak has been broken and I'm afraid this new BAD streak will continue into BU/BC.

I was accepted last Thursday. I was in awe to say the least. Looks like you got into GW and Fordham! GW rejected me today, and Fordham WL-ed me a while back. Funny how these cycles turn out. Best of luck!Gemini wrote:W-O-W! Were you accepted today?polinerdemory wrote:BU

In @ U Minn and WL @ UVA.
Finally, an acceptance outside of the nether regions of tier 1 law schools.
I'd like to trade BU for UMN!

Congrats. Minneapolis/St. Paul is a really cool area. As long as you can withstand sub zero temps and snow for a third of the year or soAggiegrad2011 wrote:In @ U Minn and WL @ UVA.

Yep... Unless I get an acceptance from one of my super reaches (boalt, NU, off UCLA WL). I want to practice in California, and I suspect my chances of doing so would be much, much better going to a school in CA (outside of top 10). I also LURVE the SF bay area.Gotti wrote:Wow!!!! Honestly, I would've had a hard time justifying even going to UVA if they'd taken me today instead of WL'ing me. Mostly because I have this petrifying fear that I am going to go to an LS OOS and end up either not being able to pass the CA bar, or worse yet, no firms at all from CA will go to OCI at OOS School X and I'll be totally screwed.
It does feel really nice to (finally) have a fairly decently highly ranked school. LOL D: Petty, I know. =/

Sorry for not checking in on this thread in a few days, I've been inundated with crazy thesis research (woot, 12 hours at the library! At least down town is really close, Starbucks!!!) and such, plus dealing with my emo hubby crying about how hard pharmacowhatever is! LOL =]
Any news on your decisions front, Gem?

That's because the entire law school process is actually horrible. Applying to undergrad wasn't this bad.

It's the whole not knowing thing. For undergrad, I knew on a certain date at a certain time I was going to have an emailed decision in my inbox, and on that date at that time, there it was.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
