Re: Florida State 2010
That's disappointing, and bad news for me too. Have you decided what school you'll be attending?
Stats?

FWIW, my LSAT was 155-157, GPA, GPA 4.0+ from T20 ugrad, English is 2nd language (but I'm not URM) and I was rejected outright from FSU. No phone call.
It's between Wake and Tulane, and maybe UC Davis if I get in.

Tulane is a better choice is you want to study international law or environmental law, or if you want to practice in or outside of Louisiana. Wake is the better choice if you want to practice in the Carolinas.

Also still on hold, while FSU takes their sweet time to tweak their incoming class. I'm facing hundreds of dollars of seat deposits due in a week.56ace wrote:also still on hold...ScndCareertyme wrote:Does FSU send out in waves like UF? if so i'm not liking my position, still on hold and possible WL's already coming out!!!

Re: Florida State 2010
So I know I'm supposed to be a future law student, and should have no problem figuring these things out....but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to access my financial aide information once logged into blackboard. Where did you all find that information?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Florida State 2010
I go to FSU for undergrad and have applied. My status is still application incomplete, guess they are still waiting on the info from the LSAC. Probably wont get in, have a 3.3 gpa and 156 lsat. I applied though hoping going here for undergrad would help and I have good LOR. I also have some good experience, having an internship with one of the nations largest prosecutors office and I attended the national youth leadership forum on law in HS. Doubt I get in, but it was worth a shot.

Re: Florida State 2010
No problem!
A bunch of students live right across the street from the law school (on Jefferson) at Jefferson Arms, College Towers, etc. The company that owns them (Phoenix South - you can look them up online) owns a bunch of buildings on the street. They are very convenient (people can just walk to class).
But, if you would prefer more comfortable accomodations at about the same price (but about 6 miles away - you have to drive/park) then a bunch of law students live at Polos on Park. I also know some that live in Southwood (Delaney Park), Arbor View (really nice) and Victoria Grand (pricey but nice).
Hope this helped a little! At least it will give you a starting point.
Let me know if I can further help in any way.

To gottaloveJAG: I didn't go back through your earlier posts so sorry if you've already answered this but I'm really interested in what apartment complexes/living spaces are favored among FSU law students. I wish I could narrow my search but I don't even know where to look right now.

Re: Florida State 2010
If I end up at FSU (i've paid the seat deposit but I also have my eyes on one other school) I'm planning on living in one of the Phoenix South buildings: Jefferson Arms, College Towers, etc. I had a chance to briefly check them out when I visited for Scholars Day and although they don't appear to be that nice, they are directly across from the law school and have reasonably priced studios/1bedrooms which is what I am looking for for my 1L. Are these apartments truly mostly law students? I'm a bit concerned about the excess noise that comes with living in student housing. Also, do they fill up pretty fast? As in, should I be signing a lease now... Thanks for the input

Re: Florida State 2010
With all the talk about the HOLD status for those still remaining, are there any current FSU law students that had their spot held after applications were due? And when did you get off the hold list, what was the response, is it possible to remain on hold until the summer, etc.?

Re: Florida State 2010
I've been stuck on Application Complete since I applied in late February. I've also heard that sometimes they don't update the status checker. Thus, it can go from Complete to DLIT.

Re: Florida State 2010
Thanks for the info! One more quick question: what is traffic like in Tallahassee? In other words, if I google directions a place and it says it is 5 minutes from the law school, is that like at 15-20 minute drive in reality? I'm guessing 6 miles (i.e. Polos on Park) isn't too far away, but I don't want to underestimate the commute.gottaloveJAG wrote:No problem!
