If you got aJS1 that in it of itself means your chances are high. About 75% of JS1s are admittedJ-E-T-S wrote:JS1 Today! (I guess yesterday now) Complete 11/30. 174/3.82. Chances?

question! went complete on 11/28, but haven't heard anything about interviews. Stats 75%>GPA>50%, 50%>LSAT>25%
Is this a bad sign, or just the randomness of the process?

Don't lose faith just yet, recent submits. Complete 9/27, LSAT>75th, GPA just barely below median. I'm still here.

+1 I went complete 10/3... GPA > 75th LSAT = 50th KJD from a top 15 and still nothing either. People in previous cycles have posted about not having received interviews til February or even March. At this point the best way to look at it is that, until we've been waitlisted or dinged, we're still in the running.Smc1994 wrote:Don't lose faith just yet, recent submits. I was told that they have 2 piles - one for KJD and one for work experience, and work from the latter first.acz26 wrote:+1 I went complete 10/3... Anyone with a lower LSAT score (below the 25th) receive a JS1 yet?

Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Anecdotally for me this makes sense. As I've mentioned I'm at or above both 75ths and went complete in September, but I'm super K/JD (graduating in three years) and haven't gotten a JS1 yet. Obviously, a ding would still surprise me with my numbers, so I'm trying to take it as it comes.jebbush2k20 wrote:I was told that they have 2 piles - one for KJD and one for work experience, and work from the latter first.acz26 wrote:+1 I went complete 10/3... I'll pop in to answer this one. I was the OP last year and there were a couple days when only one or two first time posters reported JS1s, so I called them half waves just in case they weren't real waves and people were just trolling us.jebbush2k20 wrote:Why the .5? What's that based on?gilmoregirlrevival wrote:There was a 6.5 wave last year so it appears as if first JS2 came out day before 10th JS1 wave. On a different note, I wonder if Madam Secretary's daughter will get accepted at HLS or decide (as per her parents preference) to take a full scholarship at UVA Law

I'm pretty much certain that they don't do that pile thing. I was KJD and in the first wave of JS1s last year. Also FWIW fall17law, I was in a very similar position to you last year (above both 75ths and "super KJD" in that I was graduating in three years). I wouldn't worry at all about not having a JS1 yet. H is still super numbers-driven and your numbers are too good to pass up. I got in last year right after submitting fall grades, so I would recommend submitting your fall grades as early as possible; they may want a bigger sample size than just 4 semesters.fall17law wrote:Anecdotally for me this makes sense. Only problem is I dropped down to doing one, four credit class this semester to work full-time on a political campaign, so it's not as though there's going to be much more of a sample.QuentonCassidy wrote:I'm pretty much certain that they don't do that pile thing. guyz as can be ascertained from the last couple posts I think there's a silent majority of those not possessing JS1s. we just don't post everyday to announce our continued status because that would be errr kinda pathetic

Announcing that I'm KJD above both 75ths and haven't heard anything, despite going complete in September, gets a bit redundant after a while.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
