Im just saying that I think the student population at T14 schools is going to be more liberal than the general US population, so someone going to a T14 wanting to avoid a liberal atmosphere is going to be very disappointed.

Especially going to Berkeley though, yeah.
People who voted for Trumpets should probably stay in the closet unless they love negative attention.

This is something people can figure out about a few of the schools just by following their Twitter accounts. I've seen quite a few tweets about talks being held on campus regarding things like Trump's conflicts of interest, his plans for immigrants, etc. I think I've seen it mostly from NYU and Cali schools (as I'd expect, tbh). Lol.

Haha you keep catching my inability to commit to wording on the edit.
I can only imagine how much I'll mull over every single word in my legal writing.

Haha yeah we were just using your comment as a jump off point for yammering away, not commenting on your specific political beliefs.chargers21 wrote:Just to avoid any confusion, I am fairly liberal so going to a liberal leaning school is no concern for me, it's just that I'm not uber liberal or anywhere near Berkeley liberal. I'm liberal, but pretty reasonable and pragmatic myself. Just don't try to tell me gay marriage is the end of western civilization, and we'll be fine.

I think you'll be fine as long as you don't decide to rant about parting from your gun collection and aren't against the LGBTQ community and/or abortions. I'm pretty liberal. Definitely the most liberal person in my family. I get in heated disagreements with my sibling over some things (most recently, whether or not Trump's language revolving around keeping Muslims out of the country encourages prejudice) but I've never gotten the urge to rip his head off or anything. I think you just have to pick your battles (or topics of conversation) carefully and decide what's worth going back and forth about.chargers21 wrote:Just to avoid any confusion, I am fairly liberal so going to a liberal leaning school is no concern for me, it's just that I'm not uber liberal or anywhere near Berkeley liberal. The main thing I try to remember regarding political discussions is odds are most liberals will remain liberal and most conservatives (or in your case, moderates with some conservative views) will remain conservative. There's probably a few issues that people can be persuaded about, but I can't imagine what they are.

The libtards here are ABSOLUTELY hostile and intolerant of conservatives. As long as you're not super public about it, you're good, but it is a thing.
The dude who just got arrested for the most recent murder in berkeley was known for attacking the republican club (actually physically attacking-not super effectively though lol) whenever they would do public events.

One of the two Berkeley alums who were just awarded scotus clerkships was going to be a clerk for Scalia before he passed.

But I'd rather toilet train an otter than argue whether Berkeley is dark blue or not, so I regret saying anything.
