I'm sitting down with someone from admissions next week. I'm unsure of whether or not this is my interview for admission to UVA. Would it be hella weird to email and ask?

It would probably be weird. Be prepared to interview, but chillax a bit.

i went complete on 10/25 then under review 10/26 and had an interview yesterday with Director of admissions Colby. Thought it went well... Now anxiously waiting...anyone else interview with Mr. Colby?

I did! He was super nice in mine and very friendly. It took about 3 weeks before I heard anything back or had any communication with them again so don't worry if your status isn't updating. It's very random.

For those who've interviewed, how were you dressed? I'm thinking of a casual button up either with or without a tie... or is a suit recommended?

And I know this has been asked ad nauseam, but what questions were you asked by Chris (or other UVA admissions officers)?

Mine was a telephoner only due to internet limitations, so I was not dressed up and will punt that question to others. Good luck.

I had Dean Faulk; like Meerkat, I had limited internet and just did a voice call, so I don't know about dress. It was a very laid back and amiable conversation though, so I don't think they're looking for reasons to ding you; probably wouldn't go with the Slayer shirt, but I don't think a suit makes a difference. I got all the same questions Meerkat did, minus "impactful conversation" and plus "best/worst day" and "something you were sure about at one point in your life but changed your mind on."

Did anyone submit both a Diversity Statement and an Why UVA essay? I'm definitely submitting a Why UVA but not sure if I should send a Diversity Statement too since it isn't requested and two addenda might be a bit annoying for admissions.

I did it. Haven't heard back yet. But that's probably more my numbers than the Diversity statement and why UVA.

Congrats guy! The only email I got was one from the "Roman Tax Collector" telling me to pay up my deposit. Other than a follow-up receipt for my filthy lucre, it's been all quiet. (And if you were accepted RD instead of ED, your deposit deadline is months away so you probably won't even get that.) So I'd chalk this up as normal and enjoy having one in the bank.

Just got an interview with Grace Cleveland (director of admissions)! Is she able to extend offers of admission during interviews, or is that only Dean Faulk?

Got my acceptance packet from UVA and found out that I received a Dillard! I'm so thrilled! I didn't think it was a possibility because I never received a call.

Mine was almost an hour, I only got one "interview" question, and about 40 minutes was spent talking about Charlottesville, UVA, and Virginia... Chris was amazing, and after our conversation UVA has definitely moved into my #1 spot... don't see how it isn't even more selective than it is, I feel like everyone would want to go there

Schollies do come with decisions and took me about 2-3 weeks (check my LSN) before I got any word after my interview. It could be less or more, but I ended up with the Dillard so I think wait-time is arbitrary!

Just to clarify, schollies may come with decisions. Most people who have received scholarships thus far have had very good (HYS) stats. When I spoke to admissions before they indicated they do most scholarship reviews after the fact (Jan-Feb).

+1 that sounds about right, I'd rely on what TexasENG said unless you're a likely candidate for Dillard, looking back, he's right that most people that found out schollies at this point were ones who got the D
