Still apply! There is a reason that their application is still open. They'll understand that you aren't able to interview due to their Dec 1st deadline and I can't imagine that it will hurt you. It seems like for Vandy, interviews can be slightly helpful if you're on the border, but are mostly to humanize the process, connect you with an alum, and sell the school to you!Nolachicken wrote:I tried to find answers to this question, so I'm sorry if it has been asked before. I would like to interview, and it is well past the December 1 cut off. Will my application just be delayed or should I not even bother applying since I cannot interview? Thanks in advance!

My status changed to 'decision mailed' as well without receiving an email, is this good or bad news?travel93 wrote:That's not the case this year. That's good, I was not looking forward to sitting around for 2 days waiting and checking the mail like a lunatic.travel93 wrote:That's not the case this year. For people waiting on scholly news, first round of offers were mailed out 2/27 last year (they were mailed about the same time two years ago as well) so basically 2.5-3 more weeks of waiting.
Last year, the later applicants received their scholly offer with the box (so I guess that's one positive, you won't have to endure a second seemingly endless wait)

My decision was by email as well. Maybe you should check your spam folder, my acceptance letter was in spam, so you never know.

Do you need to have specific plans before you request the reimbursement, or can I request it now and then buy tickets?shakha wrote:In on monday via email!

You can request it now. If approved, they'll email you a link with the agency you need to order your tickets through. Not sure if they provide the reimbursement if you buy your ticket then ask after.BirdLawExpert wrote:Do you need to have specific plans before you request the reimbursement, or can I request it now and then buy tickets?shakha wrote:In on monday via email!

Yes, the sooner the better! I got lazy and waited a few weeks, and ticket prices went to above $400 for meBirdLawExpert wrote:Thanks for the info! Ouch. Houston to Nashville is always expensive, for some reason, so I'm expecting a discount rather than a full reimbursement. Luckily enough my sister lives a 20 minute walk from the law campus, though, so at least I can save on hotel expenses if I need to.Lucyfur wrote: Yes, the sooner the better! The Obiter Dictum itself would be a weekend's worth of working though, not to mention the other ten thousand things. It's as heavy as my backpack.shakha wrote:Oh my god, I'm officially so excited for my black box to come LOLBirdLawExpert wrote:Just got my black box in the mailThis is going to take some time to work through, but it's awesome.

Is it possible to receive the black box without prior notification of acceptance by email or status checker change? I interviewed early December and have been expecting my "expedited decision" ever since.
