Did anyone just get the diversity weekend email? It definitely sounds like a great opportunity but they moved up the deadline to March 1? I was hoping to learn the $$$ situation before registering

At least I'm not the only one who's hear races with an email from Ucla. I wanna know about scholarships haha.
Does anyone know anything about the Hilgard graduate dorms? They seem to be the closest and nicest for a single guy (if you can deal with small spaces)

My friend lived there while she was doing her grad program and really liked it. It's soo much closer to the law school than the Weyburn apartments, which will be incredibly convenient when you walk to class (though there is a campus bus that goes from Weyburn to campus). On the downside though most law students will be in Weyburn.87mm wrote:At least I'm not the only one who's hear races with an email from Ucla. I wanna know about scholarships haha.

Super late to the party but I received the phone call about a month ago. Totally wasn't expecting it as I submitted my application about 10 days before getting the call. Did that happen to anyone else?
Congrats and good luck to everyone else!

Do you know if either of the dorms are quiet? I can handle either place as long as it is quiet haha.

It's sort of frustrating that they said February and are waiting till like the last day of February. They should've just said march and if they released them in Feb it'd just be a happy surprise

Re: UCLA Law c/o 2019 (2015-2016)
I actually lived in weyburn a few years ago for several months, and it's as quiet as the people living on your hall. The walls were very thin, so if someone played music too loud, you could hear it (or if someone is smoking weed when they shouldn't be, you will smell it, etc.). The location is nice relative to where you physically are in Westwood, but it's a bit of a trek to the actual campus/law school. Hope that helps.Lucyfur wrote:I assume Hilgard would be the quieter of the two87mm wrote:Do you know if either of the dorms are quiet? Got an email at noon PST with my need based award. At the end Dean Schwartz said they are in the process of awarding merit based so we should be hearing soon

Just got my need based award. Does anyone know if they consider how much they've given you in the need department when awarding merit grants? Or are they considered entirely separately?

This would be great if my parents could stop taking their sweet time getting me the info for the parent sectionskylethedog wrote:It said it was from my need access application, but i would suggest filling it out cuz my parents make a good amount and i was still able to get a grantDexter97 wrote:Did you just fill out the FAFSA for that?kylethedog wrote:Got an email at noon PST with my need based award. Meeeee too. Every time I call to ask if they've gotten around to it my mom says, "Are you SURE you need our information? You're 26 years old for god's sake!"jumbo2016 wrote:This would be great if my parents could stop taking their sweet time getting me the info for the parent sectionskylethedog wrote:It said it was from my need access application, but i would suggest filling it out cuz my parents make a good amount and i was still able to get a grantDexter97 wrote:Did you just fill out the FAFSA for that?kylethedog wrote:Got an email at noon PST with my need based award.
