Had my interview recently, and was surprised by the questions asked. Very few actually corresponded to the list of questions ITT (maybe 1-2 for the whole 30 minutes).

Any surprising ones you're willing to share?Legendary wrote:Had my interview recently, and was surprised by the questions asked. Very few actually corresponded to the list of questions ITT (maybe 1-2 for the whole 30 minutes).
I also didn't want to post and get everyone's hopes up, but if we're breaking the graveyard silence, this was culled from 2017's forum plus last year's numbers for when the first batch of regular decisions went out:
'10: December 29
'11: January 10
'12: January 13
'13: January 23 (Changed interview process)
'14: January 21
'15: December 31
'16: ????
Seems like we're due for some decisions next week, with maaybe them pushing them off to the week after. But that would mean we need some UR4s to start appearing.

Thanks for posting this. Any idea on how many days after seeing UR4 one would hear a decision? Also, is there a common number of days between UR3 and UR4? For reference, I went UR3 on the 29th of December.dreams2020 wrote:

I just noticed I got UR3 on 1/2 which is a Saturday. I thought this only updated on work days?

Same. As busy as this part of the year is for admissions offices, I imagine it's not uncommon for them to bring work home on the weekends.peke wrote:I just noticed I got UR3 on 1/2 which is a Saturday. I thought this only updated on work days?

Feeling slightly vindicated here after so kindly asking a few pages back if we could put the questions in the OP and then getting shat on loltexasellewoods wrote:Is there a list of questions somewhere or just sprinkled within the thread? didn't see anything in OP

The OP has been busy and hasn't been able to update the thread. He said that someone could take it. Just have to ask the Mods to transfer ownership.jetsfan1 wrote:Feeling slightly vindicated here after so kindly asking a few pages back if we could put the questions in the OP and then getting shat on loltexasellewoods wrote:Is there a list of questions somewhere or just sprinkled within the thread? didn't see anything in OP

Re: Chicago C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
HI everyone! Long time TLS lurker.
I just got an unsolicited fee waiver from UChicago less than an hour ago which is extremely surprising b/c I'm WAY below 25th for LSAT, and I just missed the mark for the 25th percentile for GPA. I'm also URM. I think my softs are average because I am currently a college senior and thus will be going straight through.
I'm going to apply regardless, but should I be excited/pleased that I got a fee waiver? I never considered applying to Chicago because I thought there was no way ever I'd get in but given this fee waiver email I now feel like there might be hope, despite how late in the cycle it is??? Or should I just appreciate a future rejection that didn't cost me $75? (I submitted all my law school apps back in mid November and got fee waivers for most of them back in October, got accepted into 3 so far, decision pending on the rest. All T14 except one).

It's not too late in the cycle! I can't predict your chances, but it's worth an application. It's hard to say why the admissions office sent you a waiver, but free is good! Congrats on your acceptances and good luck!CallMeEccentric wrote:HI everyone! Long time TLS lurker.

Do it! A fee waiver means they have some definite interest in you. There is also a lot of useful information in this thread, so make sure to browse through the pages as you complete your app.CallMeEccentric wrote:HI everyone! Long time TLS lurker.

Thanks for the responses! I guess because I was finished with my apps a month and a half ago, it seemed late in the cycle but I'll definitely take my chances. I'll try to submit my app by tomorrow night. Just have to change up my personal statement a bit. I can also finesse a Why Chicago essay pretty easily.

I wonder whether schools can see that you are URM before you apply - might explain why they sent you a fee waiver.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
