Thing with Stanford is that their admits were more scattered in terms of the months in which they applied. So while it tended to go in a chronological order it seemed like there was more of a chance of getting admitted even if they'd somewhat moved past your date. With Harvard it was crushing because once they moved past you there was pretty much no stopping.

Also, getting a JS1 is a great way to get applicants' hopes up, and it's when hopes are up that undesired outcomes are the most crushing. I think this has played a big role in my disappointment and stressing about Harvard. I think TLS also has a tendency to make it seem like as long as you're at or above Harvard's medians you're a lock, when that's certainly not true as many have learned.

Horrible ones lol
Sigh... Harvard was 95% of my stress during this cycle
What, you didn't apply to S?

:|
Echoing what draw said. Getting a JS1 early on in the cycle made me immediately not care that much about other law schools since all of a sudden the possibility of H became very real. And since Harvard accepts so many people, there's a lot of activity on TLS so you get to witness.. And then miss acceptance wave after acceptance wave. And each time it sucks lol.

Is it fair to say that missing the May wave drops your chances of a Js2 to basically zero?

Last cycle there were multiple forum posters who got accepted in June, but the May wave was significantly larger. If you miss the May action your chances are probably not good.

Also a bit surprised that there's been no action today aside from the 1 call.

Well, here's to hoping they haven't given out all of their js1bs. Although the lack of action today does not bode well I suppose

I doubt they've given them all out. I know it's been mentioned that they had yield issues last year, but there weren't that many reported yesterday and last cycle calls spanned 3 days.

The fact that basically no one from 2013 has gotten a call also makes me think (hope) that they have more to give, unless they don't like those people for some reason  :( :o

Regardless, this H cycle has taught me the true feeling of pain (pain is seeing people with your EXACT stats get a Js2 and a Js1b)

Ya, the most painful part was when they initially moved past my JS1 date. After that it's still tough to see so many people accepted with similar or worse numbers, but nothing beats the pain of initially being skipped over.

Mhmm. Ok. I get it.

Better to have a cute girl completely ignore you for 8 months than have her send you a ton mixed messages--dates, calling to see how you're doing, going out with dudes who look just like you, etc.

Exactly. At least in a relationship you can move on. With Harvard...I'm honestly not prepared to give up the dream :(

True, but I guess they sort of didn't like all of us the first time around, hence the WL.

Is there any pattern to when they like to start calling?

Someone posted about an hour ago in the admit thread that they got the call (as in, a JS2) this morning. So hopefully there will be some good news for many of you today!
