Does UT send out an email that they received your application? It's the only school I haven't gotten an email acknowledgement. I only applied because of the Texas resident fee waiver, so an acceptance would be a miracle.

Has anyone ever done a guided tour? I'm UT grad in Austin so visiting unguided is just a matter of driving 5 min to campus. Is there anything special of the guided tour?

Just received a request for a why UT statement. Taking this as a good sign right?

I did it - I liked it but it was my first time to Austin. Helps you get a feel for the size of everything, and you can ask your guide questions.rion91 wrote:Has anyone ever done a guided tour? Classic UT, taking one month after submitting to get a status checker

It is a worthless status checker.El Cunado wrote:Classic UT, taking one month after submitting to get a status checker
FWIW, they do have to assign you an EID and be sure you don't previously have one, etc. I know it seems quite trivial, but as someone who has worked on that side at UT it can be quite convoluted of a process.

It has varied. Some haven't heard back yet, some heard in 2 weeks. I submitted 11/30, admitted in 2 weeks, but am also in state.cmilleruni wrote:Just got my status checker after submitting on 1/14

I received an email attaching CFR(CERTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY)from UT today ,What does this mean for me? I am an international applicant waitlisted last month. Here is
the instruction of CFR;
If you do not plan to request documents from The University of Texas at Austin to obtain F-1 or J-1 status, you are not required to submit the CFR. The appropriate
immigration document will be issued after you have 1) been officially admitted AND 2) submitted this form along with proof of financial support for your studies.
Questions about completing this form may be directed to hotline@austin.utexas.edu.
INSTRUCTIONS
• Upload this completed form and supporting documents (as a single, PDF file) to: https://utdirect.utexas.edu/ogs/forms/supp_docs.WBX
o Paper, e-mailed, or faxed copies will not be accepted.
• Be prepared to show this documentation to the United States consulate upon interviewing for your visa.
• Please note: ALL documents must be in English or accompanied by an official English translation.
• Reciprocal exchange students should not use this form. Please complete the CFR found at: http://world.utexas.edu/isss/students/exchange/apply

Not sure what it means. I'd probably do what it requests though.bombombom wrote:I received an email attaching CFR(CERTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY)from UT today ,What does this mean for me? I am an international applicant waitlisted last month. Here is

Submitted on 1/1, still haven't heard back yet. LSAT >>75th, 25th<GPA<50th. Out of state and no Why Texas.Attax wrote:It has varied. Some haven't heard back yet, some heard in 2 weeks. I submitted 11/30, admitted in 2 weeks, but am also in state.

Re: Texas c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I'd be patient. The turn around time seems to be a good bit longer for OOS applicants, and those with LSATs below 167 this cycle. On LSN there have only been 2 admittances for non-URMs below 167.gta wrote:Submitted on 1/1, still haven't heard back yet. LSAT >>75th, 25th<GPA<50th. The rest of your post doesn't really apply to me but I'm feeling okay because of the bolded. I'm just waiting for the Why Texas request at this point.Attax wrote:I'd be patient. Yeah, be prepared for a "Why Texas?" if you've not gotten it yet. And I completely flip flopped and misread as GPA>>>75th and 25>LSAT>50. IN that case you SHOULD expect an admittance but the OOS still seems to require some patience unless you have strong and obvious ties to Texas.gta wrote:The rest of your post doesn't really apply to me but I'm feeling okay because of the bolded. It's still early. I'm OOS (169/4.0), submitted 12/5 (No Why Texas) and just got accepted 1/28. Scholarship info turn around was really fast after the acceptance though which I appreciategta wrote:The rest of your post doesn't really apply to me but I'm feeling okay because of the bolded. Congrats on your acceptance! And scholarship info should be available within 4 weeks for all who are accepted (although yours must have been super fast, good on them!)KatyMarie wrote:It's still early. Waitlisted this morning via email. stats in profile. RD, went complete in September. So, yeah, it has been, and will continue to be, a very long wait.

Thanks! I was shocked at how fast it was, and almost missed the envelope about it, thinking it had to just be another general letter from Texas!Attax wrote:Congrats on your acceptance!
