Conventional wisdom is they don't match at all, but you can give it a shotJXander wrote:Has anyone had any luck in negotiating scholarships?

PT. I had applied to both before, but then I had an opportunity at work that was too good to pass up
...and i didnt want to give up my dream either....so i emailed them, and asked to be considered PT only. Fyi, status checker changed to "your status has been changed blah blah"...and then today's date earlier in the day. I just logged on out of habit (this was the last school id been waiting for)...then phone call around 2. Im excited to see scholly info (if any)

Haha, the real question is... Who is not paying the deposit and giving us weaker applicants a chance?

Anybody know where the good places to live are? I've been looking at the Village and a few other apartments, but I wasn't sure if there is an area where law school people normally live in Dallas.

Leaning towards WUSTL but not sure. I'm still expecting one of my WL will offer me a big scholarship but we'll see.crchildress wrote: Where will you attend?

Re: SMU c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
I've received money from both schools. I have received a little more from Tulane, and SMU is not willing to negotiate. SMU's placement into biglaw is better, but an SMU degree is not as portable. I've also heard that Tulane places better into firms that aren't NLJ250 that pay area market, but I have nothing to confirm that. I like both schools a lot, and they both have different advantages and disadvantages to them.Holynorth wrote:Did you receive any money to either of them?rshw89 wrote:Torn between Tulane and SMU right now.

Just received deposit reminder email from SMU
"This year has been especially thrilling as we were fortunate to see some of the most competitive applications to date."
I heard similar things from quite a few other law schools, so much for the hype of easy cycle and drop of LSAT takers.
