A lot of schools are doing the whole "admits only" until their deadline passes...probably because of the uncertainity in the cycle. Last year they did the same thing and in midmarch a massive stream of waitlists rejections and some admittances came out.

I can only take so much rejection at a time.... I don't think I'll enjoy March very much!

When I'm head of the LSAC I'm completely overhauling the process and streamlining it. Decisions will come within days, applicants then have a few days to decide, shit or get off the pot. None of this negotiating schollys crap or waitlists or anyting else which does nothing but slow down the process for everyone.

I'd rather know right away if they are going to be crushing my dreams in one quick swoop. Not a prolonged agonizing wait of feeling hopeful and happy one week and then hopeless and discouraged the next...and then repeating that cycle till a decision comes out.

That said, I think that the URM cycle is a bit different in the sense that I believe that a lot of schools are 'sitting' on my app (since I'm below LSAT in all of them and either median or a little bellow for GPA) to see what URMs bite on their offer. i.e I'm in the "one if others withdraw" pile

That said2, many t14s and schools in the 20s released a lot of rejections. I think W&M is out there with WashU and maybe UCLA as holding off on rejections and WL. But that's my guess.

They unfortunately don't offer any travel stipends-- I called Admissions to check on this earlier in the month. They do subsidize the Hospitality House hotel, so it only costs $50 per night.

I think his reaction was somewhere along the lines of UNC's probable reaction to the same general idea--especially given their aversion to touching a status checker.

Started my own business and bought another one. You could say I minimized my competition.

It off my radar because I know I'm waitlisted. It's not a mystery! I got good offers from peer schools months ago and that kind of sealed the deal too.

I will personally be shocked and appalled if you get waitlisted. First, because you've gotten into schools with considerable $$$; second, because I'm really screwed then.
They offered me a CRS waiver (bastards) and my LSAT isn't nearly as shiny and pretty as yours.
Plus, philo students gotta represent.

That said, if you chose not to use your Wake scholarship, remember this camaraderie.
