... the TL man ... I just started working around Civic Center. I was talking to my boss about places to eat nearby. She started talking about this one restaurant then paused and said, "um, never mind, actually, the last time I went there, I saw splattered brains on the sidewalk. Someone had just gotten shot in the head and it was like one in the afternoon. You probably shouldn't walk there." I should mention this in the Hastings thread ... nah.

I'm from California and I use the word "Cali" occasionally. I don't love it by any stretch or overuse it, but sometimes it is nice to have an alternative to "California." Saying/typing that over and over again can be tiresome.

Where I'm from in these southern parts it's taboo. LA, SD, Newport, Newps, shit even Socal if we're desperate but Cali is sacrosanct.

Can't explain it.

Maybe cause it sounds like something that would be said on Jersey Shore.
