Have not heard on scholly fom GW, Gtown, fordam, WUSTL yet, probably right about waiting.teiswei wrote:They aren't really peer schools... Does anyone know if UCLA will give scholarship offers to people they accept off the waitlist?

Just got the phone call. In. No mention of financial aid, but he did mention that maybe I could go visit and apply for one of their scholarships.
Submitted way back on 11/19, and I figured I was going to be WLed anyway. So it was a surprise.

Got waitlisted at UCLA but got into Berkeley. Is this YP or what? Makes no sense.

waitlist. with my 3.1 I'm happy not to have been rejected. UCLA is my top choice so I'm going to submit my LOCI and pray.

What's UCLA's median LSAT?
About 166 and 3.95 (not exact). Maybe it wasn't YP. Hmm... All I can do is wait, but the e-mail said decision might be as late as first day of classes in August. What's the average wait? Hard to believe they make people wait till August when deposits at other schools are in April.168

That's how waitlists are, unfortunately. I've heard the occasional anecdote about someone who had already moved to campus when they got off the waitlist at another school and had to up and move within a matter of days. All depends on how badly you want it and how long you're willing to hang in there.WalkingPlato wrote:

I know this is quite an old example, like 30 years old but that's how it was with my mom. She was actually in her first day of classes at one school when she received a call from her #1 saying she was admitted off the waitlist. So she dropped everything, moved out and moved over to said school. Just saying it still happens.shntn wrote:That's how waitlists are, unfortunately. If I'm waitlisted, does that mean my chances of getting any significant $$ is close to 0?shntn wrote:That's how waitlists are, unfortunately. Don't you have to pull out of all other schools if you sign up to go to one?UMich11 wrote:I know this is quite an old example, like 30 years old but that's how it was with my mom. No. At a law fair I attended, the UCLA rep told me a similar story. She said they accept people off the WL all the way until the day after orientation.WalkingPlato wrote:Don't you have to pull out of all other schools if you sign up to go to one?

Waitlisted. Would attend if admitted pretty much up to orientation. Lucky not to be outright dinged with my stats.

I was WLed from ED and just got around to writing a LOCI. I sent it late Friday night. I didn't get a confirmation or a receipt for the LOCI yet. What's been everyone else's experience with UCLA's admissions office? With most of the other schools I've emailed, you get a reply the next day confirming any updates to your application. Obviously I'm going to wait at least 1 more day before freaking out too much though.

I'd imagine that to be a daily punishment not limited to this admissions process.megagnarley wrote:I'm almost certain I'm being punished for my being from USC.
