Just had another UR update 12/6. I think my previous one was at 11/30 before. Now I'm nervous that decision has been rendered... has there always been a "Seat Deposit -- 0.00 -- .00" in the fees section? It's my hope that the appearance of the seat deposit fee is a sign of an acceptance.

I had a similar thing happen when I went under review before Thanksgiving, I updated a second time about 3-4 days later. A couple of other people have that pattern too. I theorize that they're making decisions but are going to release them all in a group like last year. Probably in a week or two.

I don't think the seat deposit is new though.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the seat deposit thing has always been there. But anyway, if Penn keeps to the pattern from the past few years (and starts giving decisions tomorrow), almost all of the ED acceptances and most of the waitlists/rejections/whatevers will hear in tn the next 3 days (acceptances by phone, everyone else via emails which seem to come in batches each day), then RD people will start to hear next week.

From reading through previous years threads, it seems like they start sending them out via emails while they're doing acceptances. I've been so nervous that I've been freaking out every time my phone gets a new email and hesitant to actually read it.

Haha! Same here... I freak out every time my phone rings, even though it's at 1AM. I'm going to be too scared to check my email tomorrow.

The funny thing is I had not even considered my email because I thought acceptances came first, so hearing nothing would indicate a future email. Now that they might come at the same time as acceptances....oh man.

Yeah, just re-read last years thread a bit, looks like the emails starting coming out the 2nd day, so if acceptances do start tomorrow we should be good on not freaking out over emails until Thursday.

I hate myself now for applying in late October. But I really hate my undergrad for not getting my character and fitness explanation to Columbia until very late November.

Someone got in even on Dec 14th last year... horrible wait!

They were in the lobby taking photos of the post admission committee members today, I assume for this year's version of the admitted student website. So it's going to be soon, and I hope to go post welcomes in the class of 2015 threads tomorrow too

BTW our classes end on Wed. so acceptances will definitely come by Thurs. the latest I would think.
