I wish I could consider those stats a "meh."

I'm a multiple LSAT taker though. My average LSAT and GPA is meh for HYS.

You sound like someone who is disappointed with a 3.85/175, as if you're HYS or bust?

I'm not really HYS or bust. T6 or bust, rather. But HYS would be nice and I like to push my limits.

Is there a difference in scholly offers/amounts depending on who calls? Monica Ingram calls, but so does some other dude (whose name I can't recall).

Sounds more like a soft gpa wall to me.

It would be refreshing to see a 179 is not enough to overcome a soft GPA wall, I feel most schools put too much emphasis on LSAT.

+1 if you have the potential, you should have worked hard in undergrad. I agree there a circumstances where this can be overlooked, but for the most part there is no excuse for someone with a 170+ LSAT to have below a 3.3 GPA

also that puts me in the top 30% of HYPS so I don't really consider myself a slacker lol

Our (collective) fault, somebody wrote up of a similar applicant's LSN profile that was a 3.2.

3.48 from HYPS + 179 URM...come on, I can't see how this isn't YP. I, of course, am relatively uninformed.

Texas doesn't wait a month or whatever for scholarships? It's so hard to keep track of what schools send scholarships out right away and which ones wait 30 years...

I got my admissions packet the same week as the call. She called on a Thursday (11/18) but said that the packet was mailed two days prior (11/16). I got it two days later (Saturday, 11/20).

I got the scholarship envelope the following Saturday (11/27) which included the Thanksgiving holiday. It was dated for the previous Monday (11/22).

Hello all. I initially looked in the wrong folder, and ended up creating a UT thread under Class of 2014. Anyway, I was admitted in Nov, but I was out of the country, so I didn't find out until a few days ago. Stats below:

Applied 10/31
Processed 11/15
Admitted 11/16

I am military, currently deployed. I received the status checker email on 11/16, but didn't think to check it because it was still so early. I don't get home until later this month, and I'm going nuts wondering if I got a scholarship offer in the mail. UT has been my first choice for two years (I was actually accepted in 08, but couldn't go due to military commitment). Waiting is driving me nuts...

No mention of scholarship in the admit phone call, but got a letter today telling me that I got the Townes Hall scholarship ($7k/year). However, no mention of the out of state tuition waiver, which means my COA would still be $150k+. Not sure if I'm willing to rack up that much debt for UT.

Same here. I was really hoping for that waiver of out of state tuition, especially looking back to last year's cycle it seems almost everyone around my numbers (168/3.84) got it.
