Found out by snail mail today that I'm in. 3.74/172. Applied way early in September. Anybody know when we're supposed to hear about scholarships?

i believe merit-based ones come about 2 weeks after the first packet...need-based (obviously) require application and happen later!

the way nearly all schools' medians just keep rising and rising, it seems like within 10 years every single law school is gonna have medians of 4.0 and 180 lol. i wonder when it tapers off.

Probably when the economy recovers, decreasing test-taker population and number of testers scoring 170+.

Not necessarily. The test taking population may maintain its current rates, but medians can't continue to rise indefinitely.

I also got my mailed acceptance today. Was at home when I got back from work. For those wondering, my status checker only today updated to "decision" and I can access the admitted student's website (so it seems to be a legit way to figure out if you got in or not w/o the mail in hand).

It looks like there's a healthy wave of acceptances coming out. Only if I could be included in that. lol.

I think it's so funny that people are afraid of Michigan winters. yea they're cold, but you're not outside that much, and it's GORGEOUS + sickkk skying/boarding all over the state

I consider anything under 70 to be absolutely freezing. But I'll take 24/7 numbness for Michigan. Should've included that in my why mich...

I actually did say something similar in my "Why Mich?" last year. It hasn't been too too cold yet though.

Anyway, just popping into this thread to congratulate those who've heard back already and wish the others good luck. I'm a 1L at Mich and even though it's getting to be crunchtime I'm still pretty happy to be here. If y'all have any questions, don't forget there's a thread for that here. It is almost exam time so answers might be slow, but I know a few people in that thread have said they're open to PMs and I am as well, especially since I'm pretty much never on TLS anymore. The questions already asked might be helpful too.

And for those asking about scholarships, iirc the Dean's Scholarships didn't start to go out until January last cycle even though they say two weeks. The Darrow invites went out earlier, maybe Novemberish?

Maybe I should have phrased it as, "that's not a novel proposition and not at all in contradiction to what I said." I was confused as to why you quoted me, since the relationship between that post and yours wasn't really evident...the "Not necessarily" made little sense in that context.

Maybe theyre experiencing problems bc they're admitting all of us today and the site can't handle it. Yup, sticking with that

I think that's a good educated guess. Mine works fine 30 minutes ago and still is. So at least for me, no status change materially. Mine says updated as of Nov 16. But, those who are experiencing that problem are probably because they're changing your status to decision. I may be jumping the gun, but I'd rather be in your shoes since reject decisions usually don't come out until January.

I just submitted on Sat, and my status checker already says "Decision"!

But it was probably left over from last year I tried to log in to the admitted site, I can authenticate, but can't gain access, so maybe they never deleted me from the system. I have not received a received or complete email, I hope they don't auto-reject me...
