Nope. Everything's delivered by the real mail...

Unless he has super sekrit mail connections!

Also, acceptances are unlikely to "roll in" today via snail mail. The 12/1s in previous years were the date the letter was posted, not the date they were received. Today's speculation is based on the slim hope that decisions will be posted to the new status checkers, which are a wild card since they are new this cycle for NYU.

Yeah so if that guy is legit, that means NYU could have started mailing yesterday, which for us NYCers, means we could get purple envelopes today!

Exactly. If they were somehow mailed on Monday, then technically they could roll in on 11/30 for a New Yorker and 12/1 for others. How do we know if they stuck to the 12/1 mailing?

Either way, people are bound the hear soon because obviously there are purple envelopes out there floating around somewhere.

maybe.. if that is so, I appoint dulcatis to share us her good news...

* Sorry, dulcatis, for putting you on the spot, but NYU cannot reject you based on your stats, affilitation to school, etc. I'd love to say I'd appoint myself to share my snail mail status today (also in NYC), but I am afraid I am a border line accept (which means later notification) or WL.

Interesting. At Cornell, I distinctly remember anything from anywhere on campus never had any postage on it

Yeah, but Cornell Law would never send acceptances via campus mail. You would get it in the "real" mail at your apartment or online or however it is that Cornell sends acceptances.

Didn't apply there, plus I'm no longer in Ithaca...I was just speaking in general that I thought schools/departments from the same university used some sort of internal mailing system. *shrug*

Well I hope you're right :) Will post about the mail status (or lack thereof) around 7 PM tonight.

But my TLS addiction is so ridiculous that I will first call my parents, and then post on TLS.

Oh who am I kidding. I'll probably be typing as I'm dialing...
...i'm pretty sure I posted on TLS while I was getting my Berkeley acceptance phone call

I keep checking the thread to hoping that the fact that there are almost 30 pages means that something newsworthy w/r/t NYU apps has happened. Instead I find page after page of jittery aspie drivel about postmarks and status checker obsession.

Jeez, chill. That's what people post about in the application threads. If you really don't want to deal with that "jittery aspie drivel," then either stop reading it and check LSN or just skim through for tons of "CONGRATS!!!", which will be the reaction of the nice, friendly people ITT.

And I'm pretty sure that of the people in this thread, those of us talking about status checkers and postmarks are not the ones people hate in law school.

I think the circumstances warrant the jittery-ness. Really, it's just proof that we're all human. Law school people: they're just like us!
