If I had a thousand dollars for every time somebody has said something like this to me, I could pay for law school. Sogui, I feel your pain. I think you, LmaoZedong, and I would be in at Harvard if we had applied last year. Bleh. If only I hadn't let my grades slip a little bit.

Sorry to hear that Coal. One of the reasons I'm trying not to be that optimistic.

I'm on that list and it's honestly the first time I've thought of myself as a high GPA splitter. I get to say I'm a splitter now!

Yup today. I guess some people are still standing. I'm surprised how fast I moved from hold-> waitlist. What are the situations for those of you still standing? JR1s? No calls but still silent? Holds but no waitlist?

I was held back in January, no JR1. Still waiting. I haven't sent any additional material, and not really planning on it. Here's hoping it doesn't count against me.

No waitlist email for me yet. No JR1. Held in March. LOCI, add'l LORs.

Honestly, my numbers almost certainly put me in the reject pile. I do have a bizarre background though, and have done some neat things post-grad. (I hesitate to call myself non-trad since the term's apparently applied a little too loosely by some...)

Meanwhile while HLS surely doesn't rank its waitlisters, it has some attractive options on the WL that just missed the cut, already had their JR1s, and whom JR will probably reach out to as soon as they have an idea on how many seats they will need to fill.

I really hope this is the case and that I don't end up full of false hope again.

Still standing. Held but no JR1. High GPA low LSAT splitter. Super rare Puerto Rican kid with a resume the length of the 2010 Harvard waitlist. Expecting to be knocked down by a ding next week...

between 20-30 of each.

also, so far there are 74 waitlists this year (10% of total profiles) vs 185 last year (23% of total profiles). so quite a few more waitlists to come in all likelihood.

You do need to keep in mind that quite a few accounts stay pending. My guess is only about 1/2 of those are truly updated, the other will remaining "pending" for years.

still standing. but with over twice as many waitlists last year (185) than this year (80) and way more pendings (~300) this year than last year (~200) it looks like we're in for another couple waitlist days. also, there should be a bunch more outright rejections (~260ish last year vs ~190 this year). We should keep in mind that last year there were 785 profiles vs 738 this year, so all my judgements have been based on %s.
Also, its quite possible than a whole bunch of the pendings are acceptances, waitlists, or rejections and that they will be updated eventually. Still, it looks like another round of rejections and waitlists (maybe a couple of phone calls too please!) will be coming this week.

Does anyone even seriously observe the Sabbath anymore? I've never had any conflicts with anyone in college about working on a Sunday, and I doubt people sincerely pick up that habit later in life.

Mormons and the guy who runs Chik-fil-A? I know BYU won't play on Sundays in the basketball tournament (everything I know in life I learned from division I athletics), and Chik-fil-A is always closed with a big sign out front.

I'd imagine you have one hell of a PS, and you dodged the WL bloodbath, so I would not be surprised at all if some good news is coming your way...

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I would be elated to hear some good news. I am still afraid maybe they just haven't gotten around to the late files yet and a rejection is still coming. The Yale one still stings, even though it was not unexpected.

Are you going to stay on the WL or go to Columbia? At least the other options are not too shabby!

Honestly, I don't think they're handing out any more flat-out acceptances. LSN isn't reflecting a bunch of recent (within 2 weeks) acceptances made (reported on here and to me IRL). I think the rest of the holds/pending folk are getting a waitlist minus a small amount just getting rejected. They'll probably begin accepting people off the WL next month. However, I think you're definitely going to be one of the most competitive applicants on said waitlist.

Couldn't disagree with this more. If this were the case, then they would WL everyone at the same time. There would be no reason to keep files open.
