To each their own, I actually moved 4 weeks before classes started and I know some other people that did as well. I also moved with a house full of stuff and my spouse. The other people I know some were in similar situations others moved into furnished places. Moving can be a time consuming and stressful thing so I just wouldn't want to do it and then start class right away. What I'm saying is I can't imagine having to look, find, deposit or pay rent, book a flight or moving truck and then actually move all within two weeks of the start of classes as was the case previously mentioned.sanetruth wrote:I don't understand this. I'm a summer starter too. But i'm moving into a furnished sublet (as are most), so why is it necessary to be there two weeks in advance? I'm not planning on showing up until the Saturday before orientation. 72 hours is more than enough time to get settled into a furnished place before two days of orientation and then one day of class.JoeMo wrote: I'm just astonished because I'm a summer starter, I'm already moved in to my home in Ann Arbor. The other summer starters I know are either here or trickling in over the next few days.
But if it works for you it works. Best of luck.
