Oh yeah, i would never take sticker at Fordham..but that's cuz i don't want NYC. If they're prioritizing NYC then they should take Fordham. Or better yet, re-take and re-apply. I agree with this. I can't imagine being in NYC, so it is a pretty easy choice for me if I were in that situation (and I am very debt averse). I didn't read too closely to see if they were NYC or bust, I do remember then saying they wanted to eventually work in NYC though. I would say negotiate with Fordham, but if I recall correctly, they don't negotiate :/.

I mean, he/she got an almost full ride to Bama, which is great. And I really don't think Fordham at sticker should be recommended (although I may have to face a decision if to take it if they take me off their WL) but why the hell this is even a credited connection.
If you want to live and work in NYC, and sure of it why the hell would you even consider Bama? Do you think hiring partners from midtown cares about it's wonderful rise in the rankings? Or they are going to get on the firm's privet jet and fly to Birmingham (I assume that's where the campus is ) to hand pick Bama students? I'm pretty baffled.

Lurking new threads today and saw this. Being a southerner, I thought I'd let you know it's even worse than you suspect. Bama is in TUSCALOOSA, the school is the whole town. Cannot see the road to midtown Manhattan running through TUSCALOOSA Alabama, regardless of the rankings.

It's one of the beauties of St. Louis. Low cost of living in a big city. It's not the greatest city, but it's better than Ithaca, South Bend, or Urbana-Champaign.

It's not easy doing what I do though. Can't take those trips to the casino, have to cook my own food or live off the dollar menus, etc. I still have enough money for bar review though, and that's all that matters.

Nah--probably Moscone garage (they have a $10 early bird special) or SFMoMA garage, both of which are cheaper--I forgot that Intercontinental is South of Market. But gah--I hate going into the City in rush hour. Bonus is that I can work from the SF office that day and have a lunch date with a friend (gotta plan your fun!).

I'm thinking that the best part of the high COL projection, relative to the actual costs, is that you can save a fair amount of money and then use it to travel where the hell you want 2L/3L year to interview and such...Lovin it
