I would like to go to the Admitted Scholars day on the 5th.
Do they provide any reimbursement for such a trip?

Re: Wake Forest 2010
According to this (http://welcome.law.wfu.edu/next/) and the admissions/acceptance e-mail, it's only $300.ntzsch wrote:anybody know when the first seat deposit (or payment) is due? could not find the date on the website, just amount (350$ IIRC).
For those who received scholarships, the deposit is due April 1st.
For everyone else, the deposit is due April 15th.
That way the school can offer scholarships from those who turn down their acceptance to others before the deposit deadline.
From last year's admitted site, there is also a $300 deposit due June 15th (--LinkRemoved--).

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Hi guys. I promised tstyler pictures of the school months ago, and just got around to posting some in the "Wake Students taking questions" thread in the "Discuss Your School" forum. Thought I'd post it here, as I saw some admitted student may not be making the visit to check out the school. I only posted ones of the inside, but they should help give you an idea of what building looks like. Plus, now none of you have to be the weirdo who takes pictures during ASD.
And congrats to everyone who was recently admitted, and hang in there if you are still waiting! I wasn't pulled off of the waitlist until early-May, so I feel your pain.

Has any one from the new group obtained "admitted scholar" status?

By next round does this mean they have already had rounds? I was under the impression no scholarship info has come out yet?
With a 167 and 3.5 do I stand a good chance of some decent change coming my way?

There have been 2 rounds of acceptances, and scholarships have already come out for the first round (december acceptances).
With a 167 3.5, I'd say you have a pretty good chance of $$-$$$!

Admissions said we'd know later today or tomorrow, so should be coming via email (though I didn't ask whether it was regular mail or email)

At least $18K, probably $28K (or $26K or $27K, whichever the next higher number was).

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Looking at LSN, I'd say either $20,000 or $22,500. That is what people with similar numbers got. There is one on there with a 167/3.5 who got $20k. But another with a 167/3.6 got $22,500.kalvano wrote:married0L wrote:By next round does this mean they have already had rounds? I was under the impression no scholarship info has come out yet?

Per year. With a requirement that you stay in the top 2/3 of the class. If you fall below that, but stay in good academic standing, you keep half.married0L wrote:Per year or one time? Thanks folks.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Received this e-mail from Wake Forest at 4:48 pm EST. Might help you guys decide to attend.
"We have been working diligently on ideas to help you defray your expenses if you are attending a Scholar Day or an Admitted Student Open House, prior to March 5. (Please note that February 5 Scholar Day is at capacity and registration is closed.) We have decided that the Law School will reimburse you up to $200 for travel and one night's lodging if you matriculate at Wake. Of course, this reimbursement would not be made until after enrollment. We ask that you keep detailed receipts such as gas (.505 per mile - round-trip) or airline boarding passes showing the cost of the ticket, as the University Financial Services Department requires these items. Please bring your receipts to the Admissions and Financial Office when you arrive at school and a refund will be issued.
We sincerely hope that you will be attending Scholar Day and we all look forward to greeting you."

That means all of you who get a scholarship tom will only be able to come this Friday (if you want to be reimbursed that is). Yikes, not a lot of time if you are long distance.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
does anyone know if the scholarships come out in batches that correspond to admission batches? In other words, are the few of us 12/18 admits who did not get $ still in the loop?

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Why would that be? The e-mail says March 5th, so they can go to any of the ASD's or Scholar's Open Houses between now and then. That is over a month (4 different options).LSATfromNC wrote:That means all of you who get a scholarship tom will only be able to come this Friday (if you want to be reimbursed that is). Edit: You meant for the Scholar's Open House. I think someone said they could go to any of the ASD's or the Scholar's Open House to be considered for the Fletcher Scholarship.
