It's the same system that is used for OSU undergrads. I used my old undergrad name/pass and I was whisked right to my loan-heavy, no Need-Based Grant award. At least I got the Merit scholly.

Did you guys see the financial aid award!!!!!???

The Cost of attending for OOS is $60264!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I looked up my financial aid award stuff, too, and it does indeed say the cost of attending OSU OOS is $60,264 for 2010-2011 ($30,132 per semester). WHAT THE HECK?! Annual OOS tuition for 2009-2010 was/is $37,364 (according to this --LinkRemoved--). That's more than a 60% increase. That just cannot be right. Can it? What is in-state tuition for 2010-2011 then? I'm stressing out because I cannot afford $60,264 (even though I would probably be in-state for 2 & 3L). Oh my gosh, I best be getting some financial aid or I might have to be deferring to another year. WHOA!

the 60k includes your living costs, insurance, and everything. tuition by itself would probably be around the 40k mark for out of state, i am guessing. i don't see a breakdown of the 60k on their site, if anyone knows, please enlighten us.

No, THAT`S Tuition + living+ all other stuffs. Tuition alone is 39k. about 16k for living expense, 4k for books and 1.5 k for health insurance

Oh my gosh, thank you all. That is one scary thing to have looking at you on your financial aid page. I feel less anxious now. I was expecting around that much for COL+tuition+everything. But just for tuition? I think I just lost a few months off my lifespan. OY! Thanks for calming me down.

gotcha, so they shifted in state tuition up by 2k and the gap between out of state and in state stays the same. with the economy going the way it is, I sort of expected this. oh well, at least its not too bad, it could be worse, just look at how much uc tuition has been hiked.

I called 3 days ago about Need Based Grants and the Fin. Aid office said that there's no set deadline for when they'll notify students and it could be all the way till mid-summer before we hear anything. They're waiting till after the seat deposit is due to allocate the money.

Yeah, but I don't think that I will have to go that route... with the 12k/year, personal savings, and the 20,500 from the staffords, I should be fine for year one.

Did anyone else receive the e-mail from OSU today, but did not have any loans listed on their award summary?

They're not giving out need-based aid yet...so everyone just has loans listed
