Do they only call ED. It says that decisions will be reflected on the status checker. Or is it live UVA where they call and then change your status (if you're accepted I mean).

Does anyone know the various statuses available on the status checker?

Im RD, 3.7, 167

Complete as of 10/19

Under Committee Review as of 11/10

Also, any predictions would be nice...

Was UR 11/30, now UR 12/8. This doesn't mean anything, right?

I think it means your app was viewed today. I don't know whether that means your decision will be made faster than other people's, though...

LSAC has a great prediction site that includes Penn.

It is my least favorite. Most of the other predictors give me ~66% or a "strong consider" or something like that, and LSAC's gives me 35%. I hate that predictor.

It's my least favorite too, because it's the most pessimistic and thus probably the most realistic. It gave me a lower probability of getting into Penn than anywhere else where I applied, including HLS.

YP would explain that, maybe it explains mine a little bit, too. The numbers are similar between predictors for most other schools.

If this is a question, the answer is no, they call RD too.

Wow, really? The RD acceptances are given by phone? Is there an e-mail sent asking the applicant to call a la UVA or is it just out of the blue?

Between Penn and UVA calling, and Columba email/mailing, I really have no reason to check status checkers anymore.

Totes out of the blue... got a call from Bayrex as I was packing for a trip to Philly, was quite fitting :)

I dont remember getting a UVA call... though I block out much of UVA lol

U of C also randomly calls, as does UCLA. I don't really remember the rest

I wouldn't go to Chi over NYU. I would potentially go to Penn, UVA, or CLS over NYU depending on how $$ shakes out. I try to stop, assess where I am with each new piece of news from schools, and then re-evaluate my remaining applications on a scale of how much I give a fuck.

don't worry, we don't have to spread our anguish too thin quite yet since neither of us are ED here.
