Is it just me, or are a lot of people going UR2 this week? Could that mean lessened chances of quick UR2 -> DLS?

Also, I neurotically skimmed a large chunk of last year's thread, and it seems like six weeks is almost a standard wait between UR1 and UR2.

Maybe I'm just convincing myself of things to feel like there's some semblance of order to our statuses.

Don’t think there’s any pattern or standard turnaround time from UR2 to DLS. For some, it’s a couple days, for a few of us, we’ve been UR2 since October.

Same here! UR1 11/13 UR2 12/30 as well. Must be in big waves. Surprised someone's working on a Saturday but I'll take it!

What does UR1 and UR2 mean?

I checked my status on their website, it just says application under review (date is 11/13/2017).

UR1 is for the first time your application goes under review. UR2 is when that date changes but it still says under review, which means new people are looking at it.

At this point I choose to believe that I'm not UR2 because my app was so good they didn't need to look at it a second time and I'll be receiving my acceptance in the next wave :-p

Got an email from NYU today stating that "I'm still under review."

Got the strangest email from NYU right now telling me basically that I am still under review, hold tight, there's no change to your application status. I'd love if someone who knows more about last cycle could help me understand why this was sent. Is it a good sign or bad sign? Gah!!

Got the email as well. I read it as "your decision is coming in April and don't expect good news" but that could just be my pessimism.

Ok but seriously I don’t think we should read too much into that email. It means what it says, you’re still under review, hold tight. They’ve got a lot more applications in than ever before, they’re probably swamped and getting calls/emails from people stressing that they haven’t heard anything, so they sent that email out.
That’s my guess.

The status checker says under review.. why do I need an email to tell me again. Better than what I thought it was gonna be though when I saw I had an email from them. Def thought it was gonna be a ding.
