Yeah that's a u of chi thing right now...they did it for members of my current grad program last year. It was mooooonths after I'd accepted my spot at h and they offered me half the money. And called me at work. To say it was a reeally awkward call is a bit of an understatement - they got defensive about the fact that I'd been offered more money at peer schools and that they probably should have offered me $ in the first place, not months after I'd withdrawn from my spot. And then they paid me $40 to take an online survey about why I turned the (relatively small) amount of money down and how I felt about UChi's brand. No shade and it's a great school, but it was a weird series of decisions for a school that is so conscious of image these days
Chicago is full of oddballs, so that doesn't surprise me.

But they're rebranding!!! Jkjk I'm a wildcat 4 lyfe... to be fair I also didn't tell them that id only applied bc there's one Tfa alum full scholarship a year for the JD/MPP and once I didn't get that scholarship they had effectively lost me since I didn't want to move back to chi and I like NU over uchi anyway if I really decided to go back. But still it was a really really weird call.

sorry i'm late to the party here -

is the consensus that JS1 pre waitlist is better or worse than js1 after waitlist for your chances of admission?

Last year it seems it wasn't until the following Friday, so no guarantees it comes this week. Could someone explain the logistics? JS1s are by invitation only, so using last year as a reference point does that mean on [May 13th, 2016] people received an email inviting them to schedule an interview? When would the interview itself take place?

I'm ignoring last year because that would mean we're doomed.

that's crazy, I checked five minutes ago and there were none. Then I refreshed and there are a bunch open on May 9th and 10th.

Out of curiosity, how many slots are there in total? (I'm hoping for more than 18. :P)
16 on both days

Could people who already had JS1s be considered in the first wave, or will we have to wait until later for any movement?

Though I am glad that it's pretty much earlier than last year.

I really wish I would have sent in my LOCI earlier now. Hopefully they read it today and still consider me :(

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
