bruh as the semester nears each day matters a lot more if someone has to move on short notice. dont screw people over just because of this.gargleblaster wrote:goin to a better schooklillawyer2 wrote:you'd only be jerking them around if by miracle's chance you got accepted. any other outcome it is percieved they jerked you.gargleblaster wrote:34iplaw wrote:Slight disagree. What a joke to waitlist everyone with a 164+.TheTexasGunnerShow wrote:I just called CLS admissions to see if a decision had been sent out to me. (I had called them during regular admissions, and they had confirmed then that no decision was sent out, so I was thinking it might work again.) The woman I spoke to basically said she was not able to tell if a decision had been sent but that decisions will continue to be sent through the end of next week. I double checked with her that nothing was put in the mail, and she said she really did not know.
Granted, I also called yesterday, and the woman I spoke to then (different person) said to send in an email because they could only respond via email. I did that, and they never replied.

Re: Columbia Reserve Group c/o 2020
Columbia has been my dream school for yeaars. However, if I get accepted off the waitlist-i would still have to think about it. The conclusion would be "I'm going to Columbia-duh!," but I have gotten so attached go my current school. Everything is set.melmelcoolj wrote:We are all together till the end.lillawyer2 wrote:most importantly together. we are here "together" and thats what counts!TudoBem wrote:It's August...and we're still here. I actually secretly love my current school more, the more I get to know about it. I totally get what you are saying. But I might just stay on the waitlist and see what happens -- I most likely will jump ship since I already live in the Upper West Side, and it's a few stops closer than my otherwise downtown school.lillawyer2 wrote:Columbia has been my dream school for yeaars. Lol regarding commuting we are the opposite. Currently, I am about 15 min wlking distance from my school. If I got off the waitlist and attend Columbia, I am 1hr walk (i dnt mind) away and 5 stops on the 6 train then take a crosstown bus.

Given how down to the wire it's getting, I'd try to think of how you'd decide in advance and set some relatively strict guidelines for yourself so that you can be confident in whatever decision you make if admitted (like how much money you would need or the date at which you could no longer consider Columbia). I'd also research the costs involved and what you'd have to do to make the switch happen (granted, you're both NYC so it'd be largely restricted to deposit and partial tuition/fee forfeiture).melmelcoolj wrote:I actually secretly love my current school more, the more I get to know about it. Thanks 34iplaw! That's great advice. I don't think I will forfeit anything other than my 500 deposit at NYU -- which I'm relatively okay with. But once I pay tuition to NYU, it's final.34iplaw wrote:Given how down to the wire it's getting, I'd try to think of how you'd decide in advance and set some relatively strict guidelines for yourself so that you can be confident in whatever decision you make if admitted (like how much money you would need or the date at which you could no longer consider Columbia).
