UR2 yesterday without an interview... Went UR1 11/1. Thoughts? Conjecture? Thinking this means a ding..

Same UR dates, no interview.

same boat. Do interview invites usually come out in the first round of UR? Or has anyone gotten an invite when they're UR2 or 3? Could be that they're just busy with ED applicants... just trying to keep some glimmer of hope alive.

According to the website: "Interview invitations will be sent after an application has received an initial review."
Who knows though? Keeping the faith..

Bad news for ED waitlisters I'm afraid. Definitely not how I read the FAQ, but per their response:

"All ED individuals waitlisted will be on the same waitlist as future regular decision applicants. Per the FAQ’s – in early May the admissions committee will reach out to those still on the waitlist to gauge continued interest in our program."

Thanks for reaching out to them.

I guess we ride it out. I got to trust God and see what He is up to.

Haven't had my interview yet, but are people writing thank you emails to the interviewer? Also the consensus seems to be that Chicago interviews are generally more employer-potential employee like (i.e. Serious) correct?

I think on this board we read way too much into certain things, especially UR dates and numbers. Until you get dinged, you're in the running.

Had my interview. At the end, the interviewer said she thought UChicago would be a good fit for me, so that's probably a good sign! Now for the wait.

No to the Thank You emails. Yes to the second question, except for the last question I and most others were asked, which was about the recent election.

I'm RD, and it took about 5 weeks. Applied mid-Oct and interview invite came mid-late Nov.

Yea I went UR2 basically immediately after my interview on 12/22. Then another UR on 12/23 so I guess technically that puts me at UR3? I'm doing my best to not read in here hahaha.

That's something I'm not sure about. Last cycle, it was usually post-interview, but I'm not sure if there were any people who went UR2 THEN received an interview request.

Had my interview earlier this week. Was definitely more straight to the point than my Harvard, Columbia, Georgetown, or Northwestern interviews - not much fluff or smalltalk to speak of, comparatively. Quite conventional overall and no curveballs to speak of. I think it went okay.

I agree with this completely and feel the same way. I also didn't get asked any political questions, just really normal interview Qs.
