BU is my absolute number one choice (as in I might take off a year if I don't get in) so i want to be as proactive as possible and my applications hasn't even gone into review yet. :?
I sent in a LOCI this week. (Currently Waitlisted)

This is purely anecdotal, but BU was very receptive to scholly negotiation when I tried FWIW

Its not just anecdotal for you, the financial aid office is very receptive to students in general.

Hi Boston people,

Just checking in to say that I've turned down Boston, and with that comes the release of my 105k scholly. Someone sneak in and grab that money. Good luck to you guys! ;)

I had the same experience. Deposited just recently. They bumped up my scholly offer significantly when I notified them of my other offers and financial circumstances. There is a strong chance I will choose to go to BU and am quite happy about the prospect!

Getting my scholarship offer was like pulling teeth. And the amount was incredibly disappointing.

I negotiated fro 75k to 105k. They don't care about ranking as much as region. A fully scholly from Notre Dame made the upping happen. Too bad I'm now going to the west coast to USC. lol

Where was the offer from? If its from t14 it could just be they don't see you as committed. If its from a regional that isn't remotely competitive to the Boston market, they have no reason to increase. This is why the most common negotiation is prolly BU/BC lobbying offers back and forth.

I also tried to negotiate with a similar offer from a similarly ranked school, I was denied due to a lack of resources. It wouldn't hurt to try again some time between the first and second deadline as I'm sure that some money is being freed up and not much will be offered off the waitlist

Man, I want to compare these to other schools. Any idea if they're on a deadline to get these posted by a certain time?

Withdrew today, along with my 105k scholly. Good luck to those of you still waiting/negotiating, and I really do hope you pick up my money -- I think they increased tuition to an even 50k/year for 2016-2017? Yikes.

Any idea how much wait list movement is to be expected this year, or how much movement there was last year?
