Has anyone heard about scholarship money?? .. and maybe want to share their stats? I got into UVA with a 162 and a 3.9 and would love to go there but am nervous about paying full price

Only Dillards have gone out and the other scholarship offers won't be sent until this month, I believe.

Untrue. I got less than a Dillard in merit aid last month. Others have too; check LSN.

I know most people say to write a why UVA, but would it really hurt my app if I didn't send one in? I only have average, maybe even below average numbers for UVA (3.7x, 170), so I'm not exactly worried too much about YP.

I would. It may not hurt you in the end, but it's worth taking a few hours to write the why essay. You don't want to end up having 3 months of radio silence like me (and perhaps others ITT) and be thinking, "Man, I really wish I would have written that damn essay."

Any thoughts about sending both a diversity statement (first generation college student+immigrant/disadvantaged socioeconomic status but not URM) and a Why X? My diversity statement is around a page and my Why X is about 3/4 a page.

Mine also does not have anything, but at the top it says, "We have received your application, and because we have received all the necessary components, it will move forward to the review process. UVA status does not update beyond this status to indicate a difference between complete and under review. Once this status appears, it stays the same forever (maybe there is an update after a decision is made? IDK). Which is why I no longer check the UVA status checker.

My status checker changed after I got an acceptance phone call to admitted but not before. Someone else will have to speak to waitlist/rejection - not sure about that.

I really don't consider myself a neurotic person, but this whole application process has me obsessed with the tiniest things.

For sure. I feel like I'm actually very Type B in life... but not at all when it comes to law apps!

It was pretty straight forward, and very straight to the point. I did a phone interview.
-talk about my current job, which is at a law firm
-why UVA
-then she pointed out my GPA was well below median. Only tough question. Definitely be prepared to speak to any glaring weaknesses you may have.
-asked if I had any questions

UVA just sent me a very late fee waiver...when I tried to solicit one after my Sept LSAT they said no. I'm ~25th GPA and between 25th & 50th LSAT. Does this mean they're trying to get more apps because they haven't had enough applicants this cycle and I might have a shot, or are they just going to reject me to make themselves look more competitive? Is it worth submitting an app? I wasn't going to because mylsn shows zero admits with my stats, and now its also quite late in the cycle to apply with lower stats.

I would interpret this as a sign that they're trying to get their # of applicants up.
