Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
Submitted in October but was rolled over to RD because I was a December re-taker. Anyone else in the same boat? Just wondering how long it is taking for people with Dec scores to receive decisions.

pretty much the same boat. I submitted all of my apps over the winter break, and they were held for my December score. UT has been the slowest to become complete, and I just got my status checker today (compared to other completes/checkers, which I got about a week ago).c28 wrote:Submitted in October but was rolled over to RD because I was a December re-taker. Gotcha. Mine went complete back in Oct but my status checker hasn't changed since.idissent wrote:pretty much the same boat. If anyone is doing their Townes-Rice Interview today and wants to PM me how it went it would be much appreciated. I can also understand you not wanting to, though, since were competing for 8 scholarships haha.

It's been over a month since my first final was turned in and still no grades. Trust me, this is wonderful development of your skills. They are doing this all for your benefit!FairchildFLT wrote:It's been one month from when I sent in my Why Texas? statement.

Sadly didn't get in
Got the e-mail this morning
Above 75% GPA
Below 25% LSAT
In-state resident
Currently an undergrad at UT, and I really enjoy Austin, so it's really sad for me to be leaving UT. I really wanted to stay here for another 3 years.
Anyways congrats to all those who got accepted!

I'm sorry to hear that, but I'll leave you with a thought. UT allows an appeal on the decision. There is an LSAT in February. If you signed up and got 2 or 3 points higher, you'd be perfectly justified to appeal their decision.gyungchul1414 wrote:Sadly didn't get in

I feel like they must have some sort of new admissions criteria this cycle. They've denied a lot of people with great stats. Including in-staters. Last cycle it was a lot easier to predict. You had as good of a chance as anyone if you were like 167+, regardless of gpa. Definitely not that way this time.
I'll just continue to sit here in UT purgatory.

Tbf, last cycle wasn't predictable until we realized UT became so splitter friendly. Although it helped, it wasn't a huge boost. My best speculation is it didn't help as much as they wanted so they're being more careful in being the architects of next year's class to really get the numbers they want.
To the UT student who was dinged. I'd really recommend retaking. So many UT students apply, so they have their pick of the litter. Retaking and appealing would help.

Just got the call!!! So thrilled after 2.5 long months of complete silence. Admissions woman apologized for the holiday-caused delay, and thanked me for my patience. No why essay request or anything.
Hopefully calls will be coming in for more of you shorty!
