Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
I also declined a group interview because of a legitimate conflict, and haven't received an alumni interview request. I'm above both 75ths and didn't write an optional essay, so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be YP'd. My undergrad's in DC (I'm K-JD) and I wrote about wanting to stay in DC in my personal statement, hoping that would be enough, but I've been complete since 10/24 and haven't heard anything.

They were probably more entertained than the ones sitting in on our discovery class (literally the most boring topic in law school) and hearing our prof trying to dissuade us from going into biglaw for the 1000th time.JustHawkin wrote:To the 0Ls sitting in on my Erie Doctrine class. Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
Been seeing a lot of people decline the group interview on this thread, so I thought I'd offer my two cents. Applied Sep. 24 (regular decision) with an LSAT well below the median and a GPA not high enough to qualify me as a legitimate splitter. I was offered a group interview on 10/9, completed it on 10/13, and was accepted on 10/20. While unorthodox, the group interview provides a great opportunity to differentiate yourself from other applicants, and I think it probably strengthened my application a great deal. So I'm a fan.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
I don't have the impression that it will. The way Dean Cornblatt explained "Why GULC" essays in our interview was that writing one may be a plus for one applicant, but not writing one wouldn't be a minus against another applicant. I get the feeling the interviews function similarly. It's more information for them to have, but it is extra -- won't be held against those who don't do it. It seems like plenty of folks are being admitted without it, and some are getting held with it (fwiw: I interviewed about a week ago and am waiting on a decision).curlietop86 wrote:i had to decline the group interview invitation because in dc it's the day after thanksgiving... hoping that doesn't count against me.
ETA: came home to the most reassuring tiny envelope ever - admitted to part time program (applied PT exclusive). GPA > 75%/LSAT slightly below 50% with 3-4 years work experience - once I hear back from two more schools, I may retake in February to boost potential scholarship, but I know funds are limited for PT programs anyhow so I'm not sold on retesting yet. Letter dated 11/12 - I'm local so quicker delivery?

Since we're talking about group interviews, I'm just going to point out really quickly that I was never invited to do an interview of any kind. I thought that might be a bad omen, originally. It actually came as a bit of a shock when I received my acceptance letter in the mail as early as I did (letter was postmarked 11/4).
If anyone's curious about my stats, I'm willing to share them by PM, and they can be found under the same username on LSN.

Any indication when the ASW is going to be up and running? I'm hoping it will be sometime this week!

Accepted via a two-page letter (no status checker update yet) with a personalized, hand-written addition on the second page! Definitely a nice touch.

It was a couple sentences from an Assistant Dean of admissions complementing my performance at my undergraduate institution and referencing several specific points of my personal statement and how they relate to Georgetown.accessislife wrote:tonysoprano wrote:Accepted via a two-page letter (no status checker update yet) with a personalized, hand-written addition on the second page! Accepted! Received my letter today, with handwritten note that commented on my extracurriculars. I went complete 11/7 and my letter was dated 11/10. I wasn't contacted for an interview, but I did write a short response answer.
Very excited!

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
if you are registered for a future lsat, your file will not be reviewed anyway (at least this is what most schools say, not sure about georgetown, but it seems reasonable to assume they do the same thing)BertYoo wrote:Hi everyone! I'm looking for some input..
I already had a group interview, but before my application was submitted. My app is all ready to shoot off, but I am retaking the LSAT in December. My current score is a 165, and I'm definitely around the 25th for GPA - should I ask them to hold reviewing my application until my second LSAT comes out? Or should I simply submit and let them decide if my 165 is not enough and put my on hold (or reject or admit outright). Right now I am scoring above a 170. (I do have a unique circumstances that boosts my softs pretty significantly.)

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
I never actually received a completion email from Georgetown. I submitted on 9/29 and received a receipt confirmation on 9/30. I took the September LSAT and received my score 10/21, which was followed by several completion emails from other schools on 10/22. If I had to guess, that's when it went complete.accessislife wrote:bethesda and PNG when did you go complete?PN-G bamakid wrote:Since we're talking about group interviews, I'm just going to point out really quickly that I was never invited to do an interview of any kind.
