I submitted an ED app 11/1. It took a while to go complete, but it finally did 11/8. It then updated 11/9 and again 11/12. I hope the whole "three updates" theory is true, although this seems way too soon for a decision to have been made.
Congratulations to everyone who's gotten in! I hope to be as fortunate, because Georgetown is AWESOME.

If it's true, which I hope it is, you'll have one more update to go. The day of complete doesn't count

Also, do we know if ASW includes scholarships? Or will this come in a future package? (Another please and thank you)

No. I clicked on the link and it is not up yet. The email said late November, so I guess we shall all wait until then.Crowing wrote:I did. Does anybody know if the ASW is up and running yet?WhiteyCakes wrote:So who else got the JD Ambassador email?

I received the student ambassador email as well. I would expect the ASW after Thanksgiving. I am hoping it is heavy on good info and light on propaganda. I expect to be disappointed...

Fellow ED here. For me the three updates held true, including the first complete. Other people have had 4 so I guess it just depends but I wouldn't expect to find out much before your 3 week deadline. Good luck to you, hopefully I will be seeing you next year!DJT wrote:Ahh, OK, that makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification.gate08 wrote:DJT wrote:I submitted an ED app 11/1. Finally got an acceptance in the mail today. Letter post-marked 11/5- final complete data was 11/2- had an interview the week before 11/2, with an additional update on 11/1 (likely reception of the interviewer's comments, although tough to say with hurricane Sandy)

Excuse me if I'm late on the train here. But, the only way to find out if you're accepted is via snail mail? You can't find out on the status checker?

Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Correct. There are cases of them emailing/calling international applicants, or applicants who otherwise have no reasonable mail address.TrialLawyer16 wrote:Excuse me if I'm late on the train here. Just had my second update. Has the decision after the 3rd update included the original complete status?

Congrats! At some point does your status checker switch to "decision rendered" or something of the sort? Or does it remain as "application completed"?efresh88 wrote:Got my acceptance yesterday!! Here's my info and dates:

Thanks for the tip! There's an inordinate number of GULC-hating trolls on these forums, so I'm glad to hear from someone else who loved it enough to ED. (Congratulations, by the way! Must be nice.)hunter.d wrote:Fellow ED here. For me the three updates held true, including the first complete. Does GULC typically email recommenders to thank them for their input? My old boss just forwarded me such an email from the dean of admissions. It was a very nice but likely generic email but I thought a really nice touch. Just wondering if every applicant & recommender gets one.

Yeah, there definitely is. It's overblown, mostly resting on their big law placement which just gets hurt because of the class size and the fact that there is a large portion of the class that goes there just for access to Federal jobs and PI, not even considering big law. Even with that their Big Law placement is on par with other low T-14's. Also, who wouldn't want to spend 3 years in DC!

I had the same updates plus an alumnus interview in the middle. What are your guys' numbers? I'm a 167/3.83. Hoping we all get good news soon.

What are the different updates we should be seeing throughout the cycle?

FINALLY got another status update after a long wait:
Submitted on 9/20, Complete on 9/21, 10/24, did an interview on 11/1 and then again a complete on 11/14. Hopefully a decision will be coming soon!

Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Also, I know that last year's thread indicated that WLs come in the form of an e-mail. Can anyone that has applied this year confirm is that is still true for this cycle? I want to know if the status checker updates and we didn't get an e-mail...should we be expecting good news or could we still get a WL or rejection in the mail?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
