No, I wasn't waitlisted, but I needed a letter from my undergrad dean about some time I took off from college, which took forever to arrive. I got in normal admissions, but have just 1 week to decide.CLW8131 wrote:were you wait listed (and if so when) or regular decision?

Probably going to deposit at Cardozo this weekend. Anyone submit the housing forms for the "Alabama"? I'm thinking about going for the shared two-bedroom. $15000 a year doesn't sound that bad for Manhattan.

Re: Cardozo 2011-2012 Cycle
Correction: $15000 for 9 months in Manhattan. That comes out to approximately $1667.67 per month for a shared living space. I will give you that it's a pretty good price for that area, but then again, "that area" is one of the more expensive neighborhoods to live in. You could easily find something cheaper in Brooklyn, Queens, or upper Manhattan. I used to live in a 1BR on the upper west side for $1350 (though this was during the real estate crash and the asking price was $1500 initially). If you have a roommate to split costs, it will be even cheaper. I didn't even bother going to see the dorm because I knew I was keeping my apt, but if the apt sizes are anything like they are in other high demand areas of Manhattan, you'll find much bigger places in the areas I've mentioned in addition to being cheaper. Good luck!

True, but I think I'm still going to take the $15000 the shared two bedroom, if it's still available. It might be a good way to meet some of my classmates, and I've never lived in Manhattan before, so I don't even know where to start to look for housing.sd5289 wrote:Correction: $15000 for 9 months in Manhattan. Also, I really appreciate how generous Cardozo's admission and financial aid office are with scholarships. I have a super low GPA/decent LSAT, and two days ago I was accepted with a $8,000 scholarship. After some negotiations and begging, it's been upped to $30,000 including aid grants. Good enough for me to deposit!

Could those who have gotten scholarship offers please post there numbers? I have a 160 and 3.9 and am trying to assess my chances at a scholarship before or after negotiating.

After not hearing back from me (regarding a deposit I suppose) Cardozo has just sent me an email increasing my scholarship from $35k/year to a full ride.

Was this upped from a previous offer? Could you tell me what the original offer they gave you was? Just curious, pm if you want.NJDevilsfan wrote:Full Scholarship with no stips here. They are making it very difficult to say no...

Increased form 0 to 25/yr + 5 yr in financial aid.
Now I think this should be a consideration.

Yeah, rethinking my decision too. 150k is a lot of money.

A friend of mine actually turned down Cardozo and they just asked him to reconsider and offered a full ride. He doesn't use these forums, but now he has no idea what to do.

Also increased to full ride/no stips today. Does all of this sudden showering of money make anyone else nervous?

Have more admitted students than had been anticipated declined offers of admission, freeing up the scholarship money? If so, does that say something about the school, etc?cogitoergosum wrote:Why nervous?NYCLegalEagle911 wrote:Does all of this sudden showering of money make anyone else nervous?

Re: Cardozo 2011-2012 Cycle
I see. Well, has anyone checked out last year's thread? Did anything like this happen last year? If not, I might attribute it to the decreased applicant volume being talked about here: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 6&t=170835.NYCLegalEagle911 wrote:Have more admitted students than had been anticipated declined offers of admission, freeing up the scholarship money? Could have sworn that I withdrew, but was offered a full ride today.... Might make this a little more difficult...

Re: Cardozo 2011-2012 Cycle
Was offered $35k /yr previously. Withdrew. Received a full tuition offer this week so long as I put down the first deposit in a week (by May 1st). Stip is a 2.95, which they claim is top 80%.
I was convinced I was going to take a year off, but Cardozo really is making it difficult to say no.
