I'm a 3.49 170, had my apps in early-mid November, and I'm in at Penn, Cornell, and Michigan with a Dean's. So based on my experience, you don't necessarily need to freak out about applying in October or EDing.
Awesome dude!
Is there anything else on your app that stands out? Work experience? Graduate degree? Hard major/school?
I'm curious, mainly because 3.49/170ers that are very vanilla/bare bones usually don't fare well

...it's good to see you kickin' ass! I would have killed for a dean's to UMich.

I have 3ish years WE, but beyond that I don't really think I stand out. I think it speaks to the randomness of the process. I am WL at GULC and UVa.

Major congrats. My cycle definitely hasn't panned out like yours. It's not over yet so we'll see where the chips fall over the course of the next couple months. I thought I had a circumstance that would allow me to potentially outperform my numbers but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

capsman, you are my numbers twin, and I have work experience too...and yet our luck has been oddly different! I got in at Berkeley and GULC, but WL at Chicago and VP, rejected outright at Michigan. How strange.

170/3.6 but with no work experience. I didn't get my apps in until early December but you can see from my LSN profile that I'm definitely not doing as well as 3.49 with WE:

WL at UVA and Duke, out everywhere above that plus out at GULC for some reason.

WL at Duke today after 10 weeks UR. I guess that's a strikeout for the T14 minus UVA. Sending my package there tomorrow.

Do you guys think it would be reasonable/potentially successful to use NU/Duke offers to try and up a Penn offer?
Also, have any of you succeeded in renegotiating scholarship $$?

Only 2 decisions in so far (absurdly late applicant) but I guess I'll contribute to the thread.
3.41 170 URM
In: USC
Rejected: Berkeley

UT gave me the in-state tuition rate + $9500/year which sounds pretty good to me. Unless Cornell does something crazy I think my cycle has concluded.

Reserve at Cornell. I'm starting to think ad coms just throw dice.

Imho, there's no harm in trying. The worst Penn can say is no. They won't take away your current scholarship offer for having the presumption to ask. I assume NU/Duke gave you more than Penn?
I want to ask for more $$ from UVA, but Cornell gave me the same amount and Georgetown has given me less. I don't have any acceptances from higher-ranked schools to use for leverage at this point, so UVA is actually the best offer both money- and rank-wise that I have. I don't know what else to say except
please???
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
