Leveraging Significant others is VERY helpful from what I hear. Unfortunately mine isn't applying to Medical Schools till the end of this year T_T

Graduate programs in general- it gives them a VERY concrete reason for you to want their school is the justification.

Got the acceptance call 12/7. I'm out-of-state, RD, was fully expecting waitlist.

Did you write a Why UVA?

Wanted to come back and answer the above questions, probably should have just included this info in OP.

171 LSAT (retake), 3.70 GPA, out-of-state. No "Why UVA?" essay. Main (and perhaps in this case significant) soft is seven years international work experience.

so I sent in a Why UVa statement via email two days ago and heard back in an hour that it was successfully added to my file.

I was hoping to maybe see a date change on the status checker or some movement, but still pending decision since 11/4. Is this actually a good sign -- that is I haven't been dinged yet?

3.8 167,169 OOS so I'm not too hopeful, but thought the statement wouldn't hurt.
