I hope you told them that in your PS or Why UVA. If not, I'd shoot them an email...that's the kind of stuff UVA likes to hear, minus the Harvard and Yale part.dbrddr wrote:Dear UVA, my SO loves your Psych Dept. and may not get into Harvard or Yale. Let me help your medians.

Leveraging Significant others is VERY helpful from what I hear. Unfortunately mine isn't applying to Medical Schools till the end of this year T_Tsundance95 wrote:I hope you told them that in your PS or Why UVA. Graduate programs in general- it gives them a VERY concrete reason for you to want their school is the justification.r6_philly wrote:It is? "File Complete, Pending Review/Decision."
11/14 -> 11/15 -> 12/6. Sorry for being a noob to this thread, but what are people's experiences with the turnaround time from UVA?

Wanted to come back and answer the above questions, probably should have just included this info in OP.awahoya wrote:+1Hannibal wrote:Did you write a Why UVA?dddeanUNC wrote:Got the acceptance call 12/7. I'm out-of-state, RD, was fully expecting waitlist.
Edit: p.s.- 11/14 complete/pending review & decision RD here
171 LSAT (retake), 3.70 GPA, out-of-state. No "Why UVA?" essay. Main (and perhaps in this case significant) soft is seven years international work experience.

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
so I sent in a Why UVa statement via email two days ago and heard back in an hour that it was successfully added to my file.
I was hoping to maybe see a date change on the status checker or some movement, but still pending decision since 11/4. Is this actually a good sign -- that is I haven't been dinged yet?
3.8 167,169 OOS so I'm not too hopeful, but thought the statement wouldn't hurt.

Re: UVa. Regular Decision
They've already started waitlisting OOS RD though. There were several people a few pages back who all got the email on the same day. I'm not saying we still have a chance if we haven't changed dates or received an email yet, but at least we weren't auto-ding/WLHannibal wrote:If you're OOS and RD, you'll get your waitlist in January.Lovely Ludwig Van wrote:"File Complete, Pending Review/Decision."
