Yea I'm debating on getting a hotel for Friday night - I don't want to just sit around with nothing to do if everyone goes home after the event , though :o

What are the scholarship offers you have rcvd for FSU? What are you LSAT/GPA scores. I am trying to decide if I should retake the LSAT and push off Law School for a year to have the opportunity of a scholarship. Thank you for your help!

I just received my scholarship application in via e-mail, and had some questions for those of you who have been offered money:

What boxes did you check? What kind of things did you write, if any, in the large boxes on the final page? I'm just trying to get a feel for what's needed to get some $$$.

I just received the same and was wondering the same. Specifically regarding the "Diversity Enhancement" part. I want to check the box but besides saying "uhh...im cuban?" I don't know what to put!

I checked the merit box and wrote a little something about government law as I had done an extensive internship with the courts last year, but I highly doubt it had done anything. The scholarship I received was strictly a merit-based one. I believe those far and away comprise most of the $$$ given out.

Just be honest. Check boxes you are only SERIOUSLY interested in. Obviously check merit. Diversity is pretty simple-- think about what you wrote for your diversity statements for law school admissions. Now summarize it.

Booking my hotel for Thursday and Friday night. I will be leaving early on Thursday and stopping by Gainesville during the day and making an informal visit before getting to Tallahassee that night. (Not sure why I am giving my itinerary, but w/e) I'd definitely be up for meeting up Thursday (and Friday?) night for some drinks before getting my free t-shirts. Should be fun.

guhhh...i wish we didn't have to be at the COL at 9am. probably don't want to meet the dean hungover.

also, i find it funny that attorneys have a much higher incidence of alcoholism than the general population...and we're talking about where we're going to go out during scholar's weekend. we should be terrific lawyers.

Yeah, I was, but your mileage may vary. I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro at work, which is like a $450 piece of software. Alternatively, you could print it, fill it out, scan it and e-mail to scholarships@law.fsu.edu.

I'm afraid that is what I will have to do. Strange that the email says you can submit it electronically, but there isn't even a submit button on the document.

Whatever! We'll go out around 7 or so and go home at like 10. Plenty of sleep. :)
Plus, are you REALLY getting a feel for Tallahassee if you don't drink??

Yeah, you definitely just need to have the basic free Adobe to fill it in. Regular preview on macs doesn't work, so that's what I did.

I definitely got a bugged attachment or maybe its Adobe. I downloaded the latest version of Adobe and it doesn't work. It gives me an error about the file "The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document."

My husband downloaded the trial version of Adobe Pro on his computer and I can fill out the fields with that program...weird.

That's why we were accepted. They just *knew* we'd be a good fit in the (law/Tally) community.

My bf lives here too. I'll try to tear him away from all his lobbyist/political friends and bring him to meet some future potential classmates of mine :)

Lol. NCtoDC, I feel your World of Warcraft pain. The husband is all about World of Warcraft or poker. Too bad we won't be up there until really late Thursday!

Does anyone know if FSU has been sending rejections or are they one of those schools that holds them till the end of the cycle. Just wanted to know if the long decision period is a ding or they are actually considering me. Thanks and good luck all.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
