There were only four WL -> Accepts last year on LSN, two of whom only reported their waitlist date. The other two were admitted in mid-June.Polka wrote:how long till waitlisters hear back usually?

Orphanarium-
I already took two prep courses. My next step I guess is a private tutor? I don't even know where to begin really. I was so ready to burn those damned LSAT books it wasn't even funny.

Re: Berkeley Faculty Review Support Group 2010
Just got the e-mail...didn't get in. A little bummed but not crushed, since I already got into several other great schools that I was likely to choose over Berkeley anyway.
Advice for future applicants: APPLY EARLY. Looking at LSN, I think there's a very good chance I would have gotten in if I had sent my application earlier. I was just too demoralized after taking the LSAT because I thought I bombed it, so I didn't send any more applications until after I got my score, and that probably made a difference at Berkeley.

WL'd. Major bummer since Berkeley was my top choice and I have family in SF.

Wow, just got straight up dinged. 3.89/170
At least it wasnt a school I was very interested in (should have made up a BS LOCI though). And after the tuition hikes that will happen over the next few years, no way I could justify going to a 55k a year state school.

Waitlisted.
161/3.7/URM/Cal undergrad
I'm actually a bit surprised. I expected a ding with my numbers...so I really can't complain. I'm sorry to hear about all the other dings and hopefully some of us can get off the WL...doesn't look too promising though.

What areas are you problem areas on the LSAT and which classes did you take?hellokitty wrote:Orphanarium-

BTW some people just aren't good test takers and others are naturally good at them. They say LSAT is a good indicator of law school performance, but maybe that's because so much of your grade is in the exams. They have no study that I am aware of that shows direct correlation between LSAT score and performance on the job as a lawyer.

I can barely type...my #1 choice and a longshot at best.
More info for those curious:
Median LSAT, >75% GPA.
Strong softs with emphasis on public interest sector. Submitted DS. LORs from lawyers in public and private sector (yeah, no academic LORs since i've been out of undergrad for 2+ yrs).
Applied 1/20/10 (late LORs), Complete 2/3/10, FR 2/18/10, DECISION 3/11/10.

I took two Kaplan courses. Kaplan is all they offer in Alabama as far as I've seen. I wrote an addendum with my ACT score but my application is pretty good otherwise, but this will be my 3rd LSAT so I can't blow it.lt0826 wrote:What areas are you problem areas on the LSAT and which classes did you take?hellokitty wrote:Orphanarium-

Dinged via email after FR. Applied mid-January. I don't know if it would have made any difference, but I should have told them more about Why Berkeley. Oh well. Bummer.

Re: Berkeley Faculty Review Support Group 2010
Thanks It0826,
Both of those are about 2 hours from where I live but it might be worth it. Now convincing my parents to pay for another prep course is a different story. But I am looking into this!
Thanks so much, Everyone hear has been really kind and I'm genuinely happy for those that have gotten accepted and waitlisted.
Those on the WL are you going to wait it out or withdraw?
