Triptrip, your LSN boggles my mind. You'd think schools would rush at you with offers and money.

Also Triptrip explained earlier ITT that he had an abnormal UG transcript (multiple transfers to and from schools, some of which did not offer 4 year degrees) and no addendum, so it seems likely schools just got confused/thought it was sketchy and WL'd him because of it. When H offered him a JS1, he explained everything and got in off the WLHorseThief wrote:T6 schools have a limit on the amount of ridiculously awesome they'll take (out of kindness to their other students). Yup. That and my PS made me out to be a social inept homeschooler. The great thing about the Skype interviews is that you get a chance to prove you're not weird.residentemma wrote:Also Triptrip explained earlier ITT that he had an abnormal UG transcript (multiple transfers to and from schools, some of which did not offer 4 year degrees) and no addendum, so it seems likely schools just got confused/thought it was sketchy and WL'd him because of it. PSA to those accepted and have a Harvard email address: Make sure to check your Harvard email every once in awhile. You might be getting emails from current students, professors or other members of the Harvard Law community.

Doesn't that go without saying? Plenty of people haven't even submitted their applications yet, how would they have received interview invitations?nutella123 wrote:Apologies if this is a dumb question (asking on behalf of a friend... Got my app in right before the buzzer. I've been on the fence about applying for the past month but figured what the hell. At least I won't regret not giving it a try.

Yeah, they extended the deadline to to March 1st early December, IIRC.lakers180 wrote:good callgma221 wrote:Got my app in right before the buzzer. I've been on the fence about applying for the past month but figured what the hell. At least I won't regret not giving it a try.

Oh! I thought that was only for the December LSAT takers whose test was postponed due to inclement weather. I was one of those people, strangely enough, but I was able to take the make-up test later in December. Well, I'm happy my app won't be the last one they receive.Brettanomyces wrote:Yeah, they extended the deadline to to March 1st early December, IIRC.lakers180 wrote:good callgma221 wrote:Got my app in right before the buzzer. It's everyone, I believe. Their website says the application deadline has been extended until March 1, with no mention that it's specifically for people that take the LSAT for the first time in Feb.NoDayButToday wrote:
There was some ambiguity about this, yeah.... I wasn't really clear on whether it was just the first-time February takers or if it was anyone who wanted to retake, as well.

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Can we talk about this option in the poll?
What's more, the first two weeks of law school are an inundation. If you prep all summer it may make it easier to understand the first few days, but those are usually the only days that the professors won't care whether you've got it yet. After the first two weeks, there is literally no level of prep that will set you apart from the rest of your class. They will have all caught up by week two. Finally, if that wasn't enough, your final exams will be less about showing you understand "the law" (which you can brush up on during the reading weeks prior to exams) and more about displaying the understanding your professor was trying to convey. Prep work could hurt you here, which admittedly is a disappointing reality.
I've said this before in one of these threads, but the absolute best thing you could be doing right now is re-Formatting Your Resume in law student format and writing a few cover letter variations. When applying to summer internships, you're going to need to conform your resume to the standard industry style; there's not a lot of room for creativity. If you get these two things out of the way now, you'll be able to start submitting internship applications in November/December before any of the deadlines have passed but while everyone else in your class is too busy thinking about finals to write their cover letter and format their resume.

In case the three people who voted for it weren't joking; don't do that. Even though your first year is important and law school will be difficult, prepping for it is useless. Each class is its own being that you have to prepare for individually. Law school classes are a little more cohesive that college, but imagine if a high school senior told you they were spending their last summer before college reading prep books to prepare for their major. You would look at them with incredulity.Reading law books in prep for 1L

There was 15 days between my js1 invitation and js1 interview and am hoping that final decision comes out soon.!!!
