How do you know you're on the preferred waitlist? I thought it took a couple days to receive the WL/ding emails from G-town...enuf time for the lucky ones to have already received their acceptance letters.unknownscholar wrote:lovethelaw88 wrote:I went DR today (like 20 mins. ago). I can't log in to the Admitted Students website? Does that mean I'm WL/Rejected?
nope. it's too soon to know. but DR today so far has meant preferred waitlist.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Interviews are somewhat common for splitters here at GULC, but certainly not standard. My GPA was lower and they didn't ask me to interview, but I also had ≈9 years of professional experience and sent in a GPA addendum to explain what was essentially an early college, one semester GPA issue. From a really small sample of my fellow splitter friends here, it seems like interviews are more commonly requested of splitter applicants who are 1) still in undergrad or 2) have a late GPA dip or some questionable grade pattern.sibley wrote:Hm. For what it's worth, 2/5 is my one and only too. But my GPA is lower than yours as is my LSAT. And I, of course, have no interview request.MF248 wrote:2/5 was my one & only UR date. I keep telling myself that maybe the interview is for YP, but I really don't think I'm a strong enough candidate to warrant that. I've already responded to the interview request, so hopefully all goes well.Baloo wrote:Even though your GPA is low, I can't believe you're not in with your LSAT. Good luck with your interview, seems like you should be able to get in if it goes well. Mind if I ask what your full app complete UR date #1, UR date #2 have been? I've got numbers similar to your's with a lower LSAT and higher GPA.MF248 wrote:Interview requested today. Originally UR 2/5. Anyone know what the significance of the interview is?
Georgetown doesn't YP, definitely absolutely positively not. But I wouldn't worry too much about the interview; from what I gather, they just want to see that you're not a slacker. G'luck!

Preferred waitlist by email. I know its preferred wl because it said so in the email. Pretty psyched that my weird application didn't get me the autoding at least!

Same here. I'm a r-splitter, so I really can't call this.wakefield wrote:I'm also updated to UR 2/26, but I'm not in the deferred group. I first went UR on 2/19 or so.

Email came about 3 hours ago, but there is no timestamp on the status checker, so it could have been anything within the range of 20 or so hours(the last time I checked) or even before the status chcker update.krispykitten wrote:How long did it take you to get the email from the time you saw DR?IHaveDietMoxie wrote:Preferred waitlist by email. Well I'm not in undergrad, but I can see why they may have a question about my grade pattern.gilchristh wrote:Interviews are somewhat common for splitters here at GULC, but certainly not standard. 2/5 was my one & only UR date. I keep telling myself that maybe the interview is for YP, but I really don't think I'm a strong enough candidate to warrant that. I've already responded to the interview request, so hopefully all goes well.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I think it just has to do with when they send the decision out... they may have made your decision at the end of the day and didn't have time to put it in the mail box... that's seems to be the most reasonable explanation.southxii wrote:Ok, ha ha ha ha. I have my interview tomorrow. Solid grade pattern. Softs are a little weak. 3.8/167 URM. Probably on the fence and they need a little more information to make the call. No biggie.MF248 wrote: Well I'm not in undergrad, but I can see why they may have a question about my grade pattern.

Not DR 2/26, UR 2/26. I just don't understand what this could possibly mean . . . thoughts?Matypete wrote:I think it just has to do with when they send the decision out... they may have made your decision at the end of the day and didn't have time to put it in the mail box... that's seems to be the most reasonable explanation.southxii wrote:Ok, ha ha ha ha. expect a decision is coming soon. hope everyone waiting good luck!
based on what I learned from this thread, GULC sent admission via
snail mail and wl/rej via email.

I really like Georgetown's acceptance note. Mine included a nice, handwritten note with a detail from my PS. That's the first one I've gotten so far with a personal touch like that.

So, if I my decision was rendered this morning and I haven't received an email yet, does that mean I am in? Or do the emails sometimes come several days after the status checker is updated?

If you can get into the admitted students site I would definitely take that as you're in, but if you can't I wouldn't put the same amount of weight on it in the other direction.krispykitten wrote:No email, no log on = no georgetown?Torvon wrote:Try the admitted students site.Matypete wrote:So, if I my decision was rendered this morning and I haven't received an email yet, does that mean I am in?
