Re: Columbia 2011!
If this doesn't happen, it seems likely that Columbia will respond to the other pool of candidates fairly soon. There were a number of (numerically speaking) both exceptionally qualified and rather unqualified applicants in that pool. The 25/median/75 GPA/LSAT numbers were highly misleading; in the held pool, you could see why the candidate's stats might give the admissions committee reason for looking at the application more closely : the low LSAT candidates (<170) had high GPAs (or were URM), and vice versa. Or both happened to be strong. That really wasn't the case in the non-held pool.mel2010 wrote:Although it's possible that there could be a new wave of holds tomorrow once they fix their mass-hold-emailing-robotron 3000 which broke down after a paltry 3 hours today.akikaze wrote:For posterity regarding the events of 2 February 2011:

Edit: In the future, it'd be useful to know what undergrad institution a candidate attended in the form -- since they're anonymous, I think people might be willing to disclose?

+1. Point two is simply speculation...CastleRock wrote:I don't think you can say the second point with any certainty. If so you would have expected the same outcome out of HLS.akikaze wrote:For posterity regarding the events of 2 February 2011:

Well, I am in love with Jeff Bridges, but for less aesthetic purposes. Apparently, she's my celebrity doppelganger, but I don't see it.arkansawyer wrote:math101, you must change your pic immediately. I am in love with Zooey Deschanel. I can't focus

Regardless of how much we don't know, it's the type of speculation that will have me stalking my mailbox AND fearing my email these next few days. This is a very bipolar situation.eskimo wrote:+1. I'd like to keep my anonymity at least slightly intact for now. Maybe after the cycle. Also, doubtful that I'll be at Columbia, arkansawyer; Held yesterday (is it still 2/02 in the US? I get mixed up now).
