I guess 2.7 is top 80%, which is fair.

Are you IS or OOS? This is the first I've heard of UGA $$ offers, pretty exciting!bissey wrote: Thanks. I was hoping for more- like half tuition at least. Idk maybe it was wishful thinking but maybe I can negotiate a couple thousand more out of them.

$7500/yr offer from UGA came in the mail today. Located in Athens currently and don't know if I'll stay, but good to finally hear back from them.

In state, UGA Alum - $10,000 a year. Very tempting but I'm waiting for some T10 scholarships... c'mon Michigan...

$4,000.00/yr scholly. 164, 166 and 3.4. Considering I am in state I will take it. $4K off of $14K/yr, $10K a yr. I don't think I am going to find a cheaper education.

5k per year with 167 and 3.5 in state. Just got big offers from W&L and Wake so I was hoping for a little more but that still makes it under 10g's a year. I would love to get two or three more thousand, but we'll see. Still waiting on some other schools.

As a current undergrad at UGA, I'll definitely be attending the open house on March 27th, and possibly (although less likely) the reception in Atlanta on the 4th. looking forward to meeting everyone!

Anyone know about negotiating?
I "negotiated" and it worked out. They offered me a decent scholarship, I sent them a polite e-mail asking for a bit more, and they bumped it up to a good scholarship. I already had in-state, so any bump was pretty significant.
My e-mail basically said I was accepted to other great schools but loved UGA and Athens and was looking for a little more reason to stay. Nothing too complicated (this was not this year.)
3.0 GPA requirement, but UGA has year-long courses, so you would get to keep it even if you fucked up royally first semester.

I haven't heard anything about money from UGA yet. My numbers aren't great (3.22/166), but I thought they'd give me something.

it seems like most of the people who have heard by mail are in athens or at least near there... so (assuming you're OOS?) there's probably still time.
this is what i'm hoping of course...

Perhaps the people who got money first were admitted first? I got accepted in early January, and I have not received a monetary decision. They told me I would know by the middle of February.

I was accepted in early January (they were the first to accept me) and I live in the suburbs of Atlanta. I got my scholarship offer in the mail this past Wednesday.

did any of your status checkers say that 'you still need to apply' even though you had already applied?? does it not change until they have made a decision or something?

Dear Paul Rollins,
Please let me in. My personal obsession with logging into the status checker to see if I've been taken off hold and accepted is a heavy burden to bear. I like law, dawgs (sic) and places named Athens. Also, I will defriend my Georiga Tech friends on Facebook in the name of UGA.
Sincerely,
A future brilliant law student

Re: Univ of Georgia
I haven't heard anything about $$ either, I was accepted in early December. I'm OOS and was REALLY hoping for guaranteed tuition equalization, maybe I had too high of hopes?! People in and around Athens started hearing last week via snail mail from what I understand so hopefully some news will be arriving this week for the rest of us. If not, there is still time the initial letter did say "mid-February" ... I'm trying to stay patient!TipTravHoot wrote:I haven't heard anything about money from UGA yet.
