Ahhhh. I just withdrew from FSU with a full ride. This hurt. Ouch.
I really hope that my money can go to someone else. FSU is a really great school!

Did they ever ask you to fill out a merit scholarship application?whuts4lunch wrote:FSU just shifted some funds over to me! Thank you starry!!starrydecisus wrote:Ahhhh. I just withdrew from FSU with a full ride. This hurt. Ouch.

Yea, many months ago. I had an existing award, and FSU increased it 3fold!eros wrote:Did they ever ask you to fill out a merit scholarship application?whuts4lunch wrote:FSU just shifted some funds over to me! I'm inclined to say yes, but I did just get the offer literally 1 hour ago, so I should probably let my nerves calm before making a commitment. I'm also still waiting on WashU and am probably going fly up to Emory for ASW too.

Has anyone figured out what the difference between "hold" and "waitlist" is?

Re: Florida State 2010
My guess is they simply put your applications aside and will hold off on a decision until reviewing the applications that came the month leading up to the deadline. It's a more considerate way of leaving you under the "Evaluation In Progress" status ... (UC Davis)smartin wrote:Has anyone figured out what the difference between "hold" and "waitlist" is?

Question for current FSU students (who have a blackboard account): I just got an email from financial aid, and I checked, and my financial aid award for FSU Law is up. I have something called an "FSU Graduate Grant" that I've never heard about before now. Do any of you have this??

i just looked. i don't have the grant listed on my awards. do you think that they will be giving this to more people besides those who have it listed today?minuit wrote:Question for current FSU students (who have a blackboard account): I just got an email from financial aid, and I checked, and my financial aid award for FSU Law is up. Re: Florida State 2010
It's my understanding that if you are waitlisted, the committee has made a decision on your application. If you are waitlisted, you are only reconsidered for admission if there are spots available. A "hold" means to put off consideration of your application. So they want to see what their class is shaping up like and when they get a better idea, they will consider your application for admission.smartin wrote:Nope. Re: Florida State 2010
It's an additional $1,000 on top of my 1L-only scholarship, so I find this interesting, as I never knew I was receiving a grant (it doesn't sound like need-based, but perhaps that's what it is?). I wasn't sure if it applied to currently enrolled FSU students or what. Hmm.mango26 wrote:i just looked. i don't have the grant listed on my awards. do you think that they will be giving this to more people besides those who have it listed today?minuit wrote:Question for current FSU students (who have a blackboard account): I just got an email from financial aid, and I checked, and my financial aid award for FSU Law is up. Re: Florida State 2010
everyone who is admitted can create/log into blackboard to check their financial aid/scholarships. I checked mine about a week ago and along with my loans, I also saw the graduate grant for 1,000 (500 each semester). I never applied for grants so I'm also confused. I'm not complaining about free money, esp if I don't have to pay it back but kinda curious as to where the money came from.
btw, paid my deposit and sent in my forms! FSU 2013! best of luck to peeps still waiting and I look forward to seeing u guys in Aug! I'm planning a visit to look for apts soon. I'll share my info once I get back, and would love some recommendations too!

Re: Florida State 2010
Question algid: Did your grant show up the first time you were able to check your financial aid through blackboard, or sometime after? I just got news of my financial aid info being available on blackboard today via email and I'm not seeing anything except loans...Assuming I didnt get jack, in which case I'll be slightly disappointed (166, 3.21). They know their instate tuition is like a scholarship as it is, but still I was hoping for at least a little something to sweeten the deal...algid1113 wrote:everyone who is admitted can create/log into blackboard to check their financial aid/scholarships.
