After neurotically checking my emails over and over...I get do a quick email refresh to see a message that reads "CONGRATULATIONS!", My heart starts to pump really fast as i open it to see its a spam email from a kid wanting me to fill a survey for his thesis...needless to say I fudged his data....

A safety school of mine sends me a letter in the mail today. "Congratulations," it reads. "Your file is now under review by the admissions committee." ...thanks a lot for the tease.

Cornell does that too (I think it's Cornell). It's awful.

I don't know about that - I applied to UCLA around 9/1 - I've heard nothing. Accepts are going out. WL's are going out. Um, I don't like the sound of hearing nothing so far...

Also, a school that accepted me and offered a huge scholly last year just switched about everyone to decision sent, except me.

I didn't get a single e-mail either.

I went proactive an called a couple schools. FSU admissions staff told me they plan to inform the scholraship recepients after the 15th.

Yeah, I kind of think that - they only gave 2 weeks mid-summer to accept or decline, and I told them it was too late for me to shift gears like that, so I would instead reapply next cycle so I have time to plan to move, visit the school, etc. But seems they more think if I passed up that offer, they're not a top choice or something...

maybe you should stalk the admissions staff like I do, then they would be sure you are intersted. (and then reject you)

 Why didn't I think of that - I'll get a plane ticket and be there on Monday waiting at the door of the admissions office before they open, and when they ask, "Can I help you," be like, "Obviously you CAN - you helped everyone else last Friday..."

Yeah, I think that will help not only that ap, but all my others when I send in the 'arrested for stalking' update to my C and Fs...

I was/still am but I just got a "You're IN!" email from Duke. Still considering it a fluke and bracing myself for the worst.

Thanks guys! Well I thought so - a 163/3.6 from a Top20 school with good softs - but even as a URM I thought it was a reach. I hope other schools see me in the same light:)
