So, is anyone else going to the cocktail reception in DC on Monday that has NOT yet been accepted? Feels sorta weird, but I guess I'll treat it like an interview.

120k scholarship!!! 3.61 172 non-urm. It has a 2.7 GPA minimum, not sure how leery of that I should be.

Congrats!! But get them to drop that stip... very surprised they have that requirement anyway

I saw that on my scholarship letter, but UVA’s curve ends at a 2.7 and anything under that is discretionary. My friends at UVA Law also said that B-‘s aren’t common and that professors avoid them in their distributions. Basically, going under a 2.7 is not going to happen without trying.

Nope don't give up hope just yet! I went UR2 the 14th and have heard nothing - 173/3.99, I think your LSAT score is awesome enough to most likely keep you off the waitlist

Does anyone who posts stuff like this actually think they're getting waitlisted or just need people to tell them otherwise? There are a million people on every thread who have been waiting for months with numbers that will likely get them in eventually. This thread is especially laden with them. It's not even December yet. Everyone chill.

Not only this, but an adcom at the dinner I attended made a reference to a comment made in this very thread. Spivey says this all the time, but admissions officers *do* read this board and their school’s thread. Excitement for the prospect of attending isn’t a bad thing to portray, but there’s a line into sheer neuroticism that isn’t a good look.

Besides, I was UR3 for over a month, and now I’m sitting on a Dillard. Chill, it’ll be okay. I promise.

Got the interview request as well. UR1 11/7.

I also got the cocktail reception invitation so I'm taking this as a good sign. Although, I did interview previously when I applied for the 2015-2016 cycle and they followed that up with a ding Of course, I have a higher LSAT this time, so who knows.

Please tell me more about this experience. What were your stats then? Was your interview particularly rough?

Stats then were 3.21/169.

Interview was not rough at all. They asked me Why UVA, asked me if I could talk about my low GPA, and lastly for a 60 second "elevator pitch" about why I would be a good fit for the school. There were other questions but I can't remember all of them. I didn't screw it up but obviously didn't do enough to overcome the low GPA. I interviewed with Grace Cleveland.

If they really wanted to identify a poster, they could search through post updates for status dates, PS topics, anything that indicates an idiosyncrasy in an application. But I guess that would often require a due diligence that would make the adcom almost as crazy as the TLS poster.

I try not to worry but this process raises my anxiety to levels I never thought were possible.

Haha, the good thing (possibly the only one?) about living with an anxiety disorder is that things like this barely register as worse than normal. I already "know" I'm completely worthless and won't get in anywhere :-p

It came in the in a letter that was part of a large envelope that I haven't finished looking through yet
