Thank you! I'm an AZ resident and all my family is there. The Post-911 GI Bill is a full ride to any public law school I get into. I spent most of my time stationed in San Diego, and the wife loves it. So applying to UCI, UCLA, Berkley, and Stanford. Stanford is obviously not public, but their yellow ribbon program is quite nice. 10k from school/10k from VA per year. So I'd still need loans but not much.Pozzo wrote:Well done! Fee waiver situation:
Unsolicited: W&M
Solicited and granted: UVA, Michigan, GULC, UCLA, UofWashington
Solicited but denied: NYU, Cornell
No need (free app for everyone): USC, GWU
Still waiting from other 3...
Question: is it a thing to ask fee waivers to t5? Will they just say "no LOL"? Is it worth a try or do you just sound ridiculous? I'm above medians at least for H C C...

I am 99% sure Chicago and Columbia offer them (I know Chicago does, and I'm pretty sure I got one from Columbia last cycle as well)InterLaw wrote:Fee waiver situation:

Yes, they both offer fee waivers. HYS only offer need-based waivers, and I believe you need to qualify through LSAC to get them.chargers21 wrote:I am 99% sure Chicago and Columbia offer them (I know Chicago does, and I'm pretty sure I got one from Columbia last cycle as well)InterLaw wrote:Fee waiver situation:

Include the LSAC number and only official stats (no personal estimations of gpa, that can land you in hot water)chewinggum wrote:Nice. So then def wait until you have a score on file? I'm taking Sept so I won't have a score to send over until at least one month into the cycle.Ntp73821 wrote: In all of the waivers I solicited, I included my lsac number.
Do you think they'll still be willing to give out waivers after the cycle begins?

The week your Sept. LSAT score comes back you will be flooded with waivers. I don't think any of the top schools will extend them through solicitation without a score.chewinggum wrote:chargers21 wrote: Include the LSAC number and only official stats (no personal estimations of gpa, that can land you in hot water)So then def wait until you have a score on file? Yeah I realized that spending time in that thread did more harm than good lol. Instead of trolling tls I've decided to actually use that time to study. Crazy, I knowchewinggum wrote:Twiix!!! I hope your prep is going welltwiix wrote:hi friendsyou've been MIA

It has been well for the most part! Seen some serious RC improvement so trying to wrap up some more LR consistency in the next 3 weeks and then we will be smooth sailing. How has yours been going?

Does anyone have thoughts on UCI now that Dean Chemerinsky is leaving? On paper it looks like it could be great value for a west-coaster who isn't willing to pay sticker at UCLA or Berkeley. But I don't know how much of a dive in clerkship placement / job outcomes is likely without Chem.

"Dear Professor X.
Good morning. I hope you have had a good summer. I wanted to thank you again for being willing to write me a letter of recommendation. I am taking the September LSAT, and then plan on applying to schools a few weeks after that. Is there anything else you would like me to send you to help with writing the letter?
Thank you for your time and effort.

I tried finding a way of urging him without seeming like a pushy asshole. Maybe it didn't work, but fuck it. He got it submitted a few days later lol.

Re: TLS c/o 2021 Applicants Thread
Personally, I believe that it could be a good option if you aim for small gov't / local clerkship / PI and you get full tuition. However, it has absolutely no impact outside California and little impact outside LA area, which is still noticeably behind UCLA and USC... They need some years to consolidate their position. I mean, they did great recently but I think that compared to other tied schools (GWU for DC area or UofW in Seattle) they are fairly behind. In 5-7 years... Who knows!rowdy wrote:Does anyone have thoughts on UCI now that Dean Chemerinsky is leaving? Where is the Dean directed?

Had the same thing happen to me. Sent a polite reminder weeks ago and the professor said he would get on it. That letter is still not submitted. Fortunately, I had other professors I could go to. I think if they don't get it done fairly quickly it may be best to go with someone else. How stellar of a LOR are they gonna write if you have to keep asking them to do it?blackmamba8 wrote:Same thing happened to me.
